I'm amused though, that the writer compares the salary of the Prime Minister-ship of Singapore to David Beckham's multi million dollar fortune. David Beckham is a sportsman and a global icon, one of the world's most famous Footballers, of course.He earns so much because he plays pretty good football amongst the other footballers (but i think players like Kaka and Gerrard play better). From Zimbabwe down to Brazil down to the inner reaches of Australia and now, even in the States, ordinary people know who's Beckham. Heck, some people even adore him.
On the other hand, from Australia to Wales, Ukraine to Uruguay, China to Chile, ordinary people don't give a flying f*k who Lee Hsien Loong is, except for the fact that he's making too much money for the simple job of running a small country in comparison to theirs. And i don't blame them, too.
