I sat through all of Bush's "State of the Union" address just now. You should all applaud me, because about 2 minutes into it I had a fork and was attempting to puncture my own eardrums! Well, not really, but the thought did run through my mind. The address had the intellectual level of the people who got Bush re-elected... idiocy. Bush has this amazing math theory, that increasing spending and reducing taxes will remove our defecit. I'm proud of him, for having the balls to stand up there and say that out loud. -1(our financial status) + -1(our reduced taxes, bush style) - 5(our grossly enlarged spending) does NOT equal a positive number! A true Yale-educated genius.
I'm deeply offended that the President of my country believes I'm stupid enough to fall for that.
He goes on to say that American workers, if given a level playing field, will outperform other workers. That's bloody bull! Even with tariffs and other attempts to stack the deck in our favor, American workers are getting slapped about with the merest of ease by any other nation's workers! We're not the best workers, we're among the WORST! Why are Americans being laid off by companies who then hire workers in other countries? Because they're more cost-efficient. Why are illegal immigrants being blamed for job losses? Because they don't take their existence in the USA for granted. We wouldn't have job-loss problems if we worked even half-decently.
I want to write more, but it's very hard to keep this clear of any profanity; stupidity enrages me, especially stupidity glorified. I may once I've had time to digest the intellectual slap-to-the-face/smart-kid-beating I've just witnessed.
