Long day!
But not a bad day. I am EXHAUSTED though... I did the gym, Corn Hill arts fest (where I got my first tip ever! Yay! ) and then spent the night setting up my linux box.
Started off hitting the gym at RIT which is always good. I've been shortening the workouts by switching machines instead of taking a small break between reps. For example, I used to do 10 curls, rest a minute, 10 more, rest, etc. Now I do 10 curls, 10 tricep extensions, 10 curls, etc. It works for shortening the time but man it wears you out much faster.
After that I decided to go to the Corn Hill arts fest. Pretty cool, though I didn't see anything I was willing to buy myself, even if I had the cash to buy it. Lots of weird little arts and crafts but nothing that really looked my style. Still there was a lot of good music and lots of friendly people.
I decided to bring my juggling balls, figuring that I'd like the music best (well I THOUGHT i'd like the music and the food but it turns out the food there wasn't very good at all. They advertized ethnic food... apparently that means really lousy gyros and um.... 10 different kettle corn stands? Anyway I spent most of the time bouncing from band to band doing my sphereplay. Got some decent groups watching me, it was realy cool. One man came up and tried to give me a dollar (started to drop it into my juggling bag). I told him I'm not looking for tips, I'm not good enough for that anyway but maybe someday. For now I'm just looking to get used to playing in front of people, and heck it's just fun to show people. He said okay, watched for another 10 minutes or so... then said "I don't care what you say, I gotta leave a buck" dropped the dollar and walked off before I could say anything. I felt bad but it's also good for the ego you know? All in all lots of fun, but I was running around and performing ( which is more tireing than you think ) for a good 6-7 hours. By this point I was just physically DONE. Lots of running around and activity and I wasn't willing to pay 3 bucks for a soda so I didn't drink anything all day. Not the smartest thing I have ever done.
The linux thing isn't as interesting or fun... I just took my old pc ( before I put together my A64 box ) but eventually I'll have set up my own web server and will be able to share all kinds of stuff with you guys (I'll be able to serve around 20 gigs) so that's cool.
Okay, enough.... or this will turn into the longest LJ post ever, and I gotta get some sleep tonight, I'm BEAT.
