Ugh!

Monday I managed to come down with the cold from hell. Its weird, my body feels perfectly healthy excepting that my head feels stuffed full of cotton. I guess its more weird in that I haven't been sick for ages. Literally, my Benadryl tablets expired in January of 2006. Its been that long since I have wanted one.

However, this gave me the excuse to go check out Penn Herbs. Nifty little store. Wonderful selection and the staff was friendly (/commercial) I managed to pick up some cut Echanecia Root (yuck) and some Lavender Essential Oil for the congestion ( works like a charm :-) ). Unfortunately I found that the effect isn't very long lives 20min- 1hour so either its a viral bit ( ie a cold) or thats just how it works. It does however, knock a headache out in 15 seconds flat, and relieves pressure on the sinuses like none other so I still recommend it.

Anyway, doing Work while sick is wonky as hell. I remember reading about how its not generally a good idea and now I see why. With my body so out of sorts physically, my energy centers feel out of tune. My capacity is greatly reduced and to boot trying to meditate with a stuffed nose adds a layer of difficulty thats just not necessary to undergo unless your either a) really wanting to practice the mind over body stuff or b) desperately needing to do some Work right then and there. Better to wait till healthy in my opinion.

Often, silly as it sounds, I feel like some of the books I am working through seem written especially for me. I know they are not but its uncanny some of the things that have been going on. For instance, I have been struggling with just being in my own self and connecting to it, and in related work trying to promote self love, something that is a special challenge for me. ( I have gone through life believing that I am, to put it lightly, not so great)

Each time I sit down to read some of the book I am working on for my required reading I find, trumpets blaring: an exercise or passage or chapter devoted to just that. They are pretty good and I can't wait till I am feeling better so I can get the full effect. ah well, enough rambling for now

Until next time
