Good news!
I was selected for law review here at school! I’m now a staff member of the Journal of Gender, Social Policy & the Law!
For those who have no idea what this means:
Law Review (or Journal) is a select group of students who put together, write for and edit these academic publications for the law community at large. It’s a very small group of students - each journal has about 30-40 junior staff chosen per year, with about 50-70 staff members total. We have 5 journals here at school and we have over 1200 students. In order to “write on” you have to compete in what’s called “Short Write On Competition” where you write a 10 page academic research paper which the journals then judge and grade. Today the phone calls went out to all the 1L’s to let us know if we made it - I was lucky enough for my best friend to be the person who called me (she’s on the executive board of my journal).
