Now for the rest of the story...
OK, after a goodnights sleep and a good lot of celebrating yesterday I can give you all better details about what happened yesterday. We all went in and did a LOT of waiting outside the courtroom, LONG and BORING, UGH!!! BUT it was WELL worth it!! Anyway, the moron had the balls to go up and TRY to counter/explain away aka LIE his way out of the hole he had put himself in, it obviously failed! I didn't sit in on it but heard from the victim/witness advocate that it took a LOT of self control for her not to sit there and shake her head the entire time he was up there, LOL! Well, after a brief recess, the judge came in and gave us a SERIOUS scare b/c of previous paperwork! Even the defense attorney was sweatin it out! LOL I was getting annoyed about it too but I understood the need to be sure all things were straight, LAST thing we need was this piece of shit to get out on a technicality!! Good news was they found all the right things and got it straight then the judge made his decision... he said the accused did not prove himself credible in his testimony but that Megan did prove herself credible so he was found GUILTY and sentencing COULD have happened right there and then but a witness had already left so it was set to April, but that is OK, it'll give me time to write up a victims impact statement! Then the judge called for me and Megan to approach the bench and he told Megan she was the BEST child witness he had EVER had in his courtroom and that she is an exceptional child and that he hopes she can put this horrible thing behind her and go on with her life. I was SO proud of her when I heard what he said, the detectives told me after that this judge NEVER does that and that Meg needed to know that! After we left the courts the kids and I went to Megans fav place to eat, The Painted Lady, gawd it was good!! Later we went to the mall and did some shoppin, went to a movie then to Olive Garden for dinner. On our drive home I had the radio on and called in to make a request for the 80's at 8pm and ended up winning 2 passes for a concert this Sat!!! WOOHOO!! What An AWESOME way to end the night!!!
