I realize I don't post to my journal as often as I think about posting. I mean, I still post relatively frequently, but there's so many time throughout my day where I think 'Gotta post that to LJ'. But by the time I get to my computer I've gotten too lazy or something and no longer feel like typing it all up. I'm going to try to remedy this beginning tomorrow, if my mouth isn't hurting too much.
Why will my mouth be hurting, you ask? Oh, because I'm getting ALL of my wisdom teeth taken out tomorrow morning. Fun times. And did I mention that I'm actually on spring break now? Yeah, this is exactly how I wanted to spend my spring break. -_-
I can't complain too much because I do need them out, but summertime would have been much preferable to this.
Anyway, some (truly) fun stuff has happened since I last posted. I've officially seen Alice in Wonderland in 3D twice, and I admit to loving it both times. The cast was WONDERFUL in this movie. Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton are at their best, with the first sporting a particularly Scottish brogue and...wait for it...a skirt (see kilt) throught the entire movie. It's sad that it took me to the end of watching it the second time to notice the kilt. However, even when I was younger the Cheshire Cat was my favorite character, and Stephen Fry certainly did him justice in this new one. Perfect pauses with the cryptic (and the not-so-cryptic) lines. Everyone was wonderfully mad in this, including the voice actors. And Hot Topic scored a lot of money from me by carrying Alice gear.
Hm, now what could be better than seeing a Scottish Johnny Depp in a skirt act opposite a delightful Cheshire Cat? Why, seeing Rocky Horror Picture Show live with all the actors, bells, and whistles, of course! Yep, I have popped my Rocky cherry. The indie theater in DC has two showings one weekend a month of Rocky in which volunteer actors act out the scenes while the movie is being played. Oh man, and the audience participation for this movie is hilarious! And I would tell you what the Rocky virgins were forced to do, but I don't want to ruin it for anyone. Just know it is both embarrassing and funny.
Separate from those, but still important (as it has caused me to lose hours of sleep these past two weeks), is my new beloved pairing. And it includes REAL people! o.O Haha, yes! I am an official Colin Farrell/Jared Leto supporter. *dies* I don't know why I suddenly became such a fan of this pairing but I can only chalk it up to circumstance. I saw Alexander - the movie where Colin plays Alexander the Great and Jared plays his one true love Hephaestion - back in November but even then it didn't stick. I thought Jared was pretty in costume and everything but that's as far as I went with it. Then, for some reason, that changed in my mind.
I saw
The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus - nice trip of a movie, by the way - with a friend and like suddenly became aware of Colin's amazingness. Even though when I previously looked at his imdb page, I had already seen a lot of his movies. I think that was also doubled with me falling in love with him and his Irish accent for the movie
In Bruges. It was like I put those two movies together and was like, okay, I need to watch some of his interviews, if only to hear the sexy that is his voice.
But of course, I'm a slasher. It's almost impossible to just love an actor or character, I have to pair them with someone, if someone is readily available. Jared subconsciously made himself so. In the midst of going through Colin's movie repertoire I came across Alexander again, prompting me to take a closer look at Jared Leto as Hephaestion. Only to find out that he's from the same state as me! So naturally I took more interest in him and his brother, leading to me watching some interviews on youtube, leading to me listening to their new album and loving it. You see, I already owned their band (30 Seconds to Mars)'s CD
A Beautiful Lie but I still wasn't really taken them. This new album, however,
This Is War? It is the shit. I've pretty much been listening to it on repeat since I got it.
Anywho, after watching interviews with Jared and the band in it and realizing just how pretty Jared is IRL, I was gone. Slasher mind took over and I was forced (forced, I tell you!) to find like-minded people on the LJ. I found three groups, and the stories in them have been keeping me up reading until like four o'clock in the morning when I should have been sleeping for school the next day. But at least I can list them as my first supported slasher pairing that includes RL people.
Oh, and happy last 10 minutes of
White Day everyone! Just cuz I can. :)
EDIT: In the small time I've been reading fics about him, Jared has become my Kurama for this new fandom. Always gotta have a Kurama. ;)
