I really needed to talk to someone about this mass levitation thing, but none of the Criss Angel groups were active, so it's forced upon you.
I'm not a huge magic or illusionist fan or anything, but I like Criss Angel. Sure he sometimes goes overboard with the stage presence thing (I mean the breathing. Come on!) but he is entertaining. I watch his show whenever I catch it, but I've been faithfully tuning in for
The Five Lives of Criss Angel series this month. And so of course I was going to watch for the mass levitation demonstration tonight!
He gets down to it - the promise to levitate some viewers at home. So I decide why the hell not. Let's see if this works. I do what he says - stand up, breathe deep, close eyes, and drift. And it is this really funny feeling. Almost like I guess what it would feel like to be lighter than air.
I did not levitate, but my arms certainly did. Of their own accord. And I think that might be what caused me to mess up. My arms started doing their own thing, floating as if held by balloons and everything, and it FREAKED ME OUT. So the rest of the time, I'm here freaking out while trying not to freak out so I can still levitate, and my head is all confused and I'm pretty much no longer calm. But the feeling of just my arms following his direction was amazing! And I'm going to find the damn video online and watch it again tomorrow and see what happens. (Would turn it on now but I have class in the morning.)
Now, I know people say levitation, walking on water, and all the other things Criss pulls are impossible, but I don't see how so. It's just mind over matter, right? Eastern cultures do that all the time. Perhaps we Westerners are just behind in the game.
Why not believe in something beyond our imaginations?
