I am so proud of myself!

I actually came home and wrote one of the essays I needed to write by Saturday. I really didn't think I would. Figured I'd procrastinate until say Friday and do them both last second. But I didn't!

My application for the University of Richmond is due by this Saturday. However, so is my application for this $2500 scholarship. Richmond requires 2 essays. The scholarship one. Thankfully the one I just finished was my second Richmond one, so all that's left is the scholarship.

One good thing about this entire process: once I finish this Richmond application, I will have also inadvertantly completed most of my other applications as well. Common App is one helpful little bitch!

Went to see the highly anticipated The Golden Compass on its release day. I won't expound long on how highly disappointed I was. It had its good parts, but mostly it just didn't seem to flow very well. I understand the book has a lot of information, but seriously. If HP can do it, anyone can.

There were just some parts that bothered me, like factual references that a character may have made though they weren't supposed to know yet. Or how the armored bear had his leg broken but was running swiftly mere moments later. It was such a piss adaptation. I give it a C for effort and graphics.

Onto much more anticipated news: I am eagerly awaiting next Friday for my Christmas movie of the year. Yep, you guessed it, Sweeney Todd!! I am so going the night of release, especially since it's the night after school let's out here. Oh yes, there will be blood. (I think that was from Saw, btw.)

What else? Oh, I am reading a new book series. It's the Kim Harrison series about witch Rachel Morgan and her live-in vamp roomate Ivy something-or-other. It's pretty good, but for some reason I can't just read them straight like I can J.D.Robb's books, for instance.

Don't think I said, but I also started reading the Stephanie Meyer Twilight series a couple months ago. Now that is a good series! I wish she'd hurry and come out with the next book, but I have to wait a whole year for it.

Edit: Think I went a little link crazy this post.
