St. Luke's
Thanksgiving break has officially begun! I have an entire week off. But what am I to do with that week? Why, stay in Texas, of course!
My grandma is actually here in the hospital because she had to have surgery. But given that she has really thin blood, this hospital was the only one that could do it and cover any possible...damages. So, of course, something happens that shouldn't have.
So now she's stuck here until who knows when. (We don't even know when she's getting out of ICU.) And the family keeps rotating who's staying up here with her for visitation and to speak to the doctors. Right now, me, my cousins Sheena, Javin (Sheena's son) and Larry (Sheena's bro), and my uncles Edgar and Terry are up here. By 12pm tomorrow, it'll just be me and Sheena.
We're both staying here for the entire week and everyone else is coming back up Tuesday or Wednesday for Thanksgiving and stuff.
Not much holiday spending, but I have to be here for my grandma. Luckily, she's doing A LOT better than she was the first time I came up here.
Friday, she was really tired and haggard and obviously in pain. By this morning she was up and writing (because she can't talk on her own) and laughing with us. It was great! Just gotta keep her spirits up and help her get well soon. She needs to be home. Hospitals just really don't suit her active way of life. I promise you she's 65 but acts like she's 38-ish! She can't stand to be idle, so I know this is bothering her.
Anyway, I'm praying she gets better soon so we can all go back home.
Also, yesterday was Javin's birthday!! He turned those terrible twos, God forbid! I love him to death, though. That's my baby.
