The only person you can really compare yourself to is yourself. Did you do the best you could at the time? That's what matters.
My manager dispairs because I dislike contests and such. The only person I care to compete with is myself. I don't particularly want anyone to be compared to me, either (can we say "why can't you be like your older sister?" [I was the older sister...I hated that question....I'm a nerd/geek, I do well in school and stuff, it's not fair to compare me to someone who isn't equally as gifted that way, y'know...it's not fair to me, it's not fair to them]). I have goals for myself, and it saddens me when someone tries to compete with me. *sigh*

Something I wanted to tell you. The day after you posted this comment, my English teacher said practically the same thing in class. We were practicing for the AP exam and she read us some examples of good ones and bad ones. But after she read the good ones she said "But don't think you have to write like this to get a good score. The way you write is fine." And of course the first person I thought of was you. ^^
