Every New Beginning Comes From Some Other Beginning's End.

So the supervisor called a meeting on Thursday. Management is planning the transition to outsource our jobs to India by January.

Our one chance to save our jobs as they are is to increase production to likely impossible levels. Barring that, we'll have to begin crosstraining so that we can double up with another department, at which time I guess they'll decide which half of us gets to keep working and who's out on their asses.

So I'd better get serious on sending out my resume. I'm hopeful that I'll survive the first round of layoffs because of the extra responsibilities I've been taking on (not to mention all the free overtime I've been working) so maybe I can buy myself a little time to find another job.

Oh, and so far nobody's RSVPed to my fundraising event at the temple, which is 3 weeks away. It just doesn't get any better than this, folks.

But! All is not lost, because at last someone, somewhere, has recognized what I have to offer the universe:

You are a Trekkie, through and through! You know the series, the movies, the literature, the science, and you are proud of it! You are probably saving up to buy your own starship! You are part of a vast community of Trekkies, and you're loving it! Congratulations!
