Products of Boredom

Feb 09, 2010 02:05

Well I was bored the other day and I had recently gotten a copy of Paintshop so I decided to mess around with it. Changed coloration of photos, cut stuff out, random coloring, things like that. ( I still haven't gotten the gradient to work right though >.<)

After a while I decided to attempt to color Manga. So I found an image but I had no idea how to get line art out of it. (is using a mouse to color, I so did not want to trace those things)  I tried just carefully coloring in the white but that didn't work. So I did what I should have done in the first place and used Google to find tutorials. I ended up using the Basic Manga Coloring Tutorial by ~Amaretti (I never would have gotten those lines off that page without it ^_^')  Yay for tutorials.
After that I experimented with colors and a bit of shading. So that being said here is my first attempt at Manga coloring:

Fairsky from 1/2 Prince by Yu Wo and Choi Hong Chong.

I actually think it turned out rather well, if I ever get really bored again I may do another.
If anyone actually reads this and could offer some advice to improve it would be much appreciated.
