(FIC) Three Words Eight Letters One Wish: Chapter 3

Nichkhun let the cocky grin drop from his face, resisting the urge to pout and cry when Wooyoung had looked at him like he was going to cry and scream ‘rapist’. He didn’t mean to scare him but he did and it was very very upsetting for him. His flirting usually worked and then it hit him, his flirting only worked on girls and maybe any guy that was in love with him but Wooyoung was a boy who wasn’t in love with him, who didn’t like him.

His second realization came in the form of the waiter spilling Wooyoung’s hot chocolate on the front of his jeans. After screaming (like a girl) and almost ripping the jeans off of his legs in public he finally calmed down enough to understand his realization, that realization just happened to be, he was flirting with Wooyoung.

“I’m so so sorry sir, I really did-”

“It’s okay, really. See, no harm done. I’m fine but I think my companion needs another hot chocolate,” The Thai man said with an understanding smile, still mopping up the spilled drink from the front of his jeans.

The waiter nodded before scurrying off to ask the barista to remake Wooyoung’s hot chocolate. Nichkhun dropped the smile, puffing out his cheeks instead, as he tried to wipe away the stain that had formed on his pants. He glanced up at Wooyoung who was staring at him.

“What?” Nichkhun hissed miserably, the only thoughts running through his mind were about how to remove the stains from his clothing. His poor, poor clothes.

“You d-do know rubbing it isn’t going to do anything, right?” Wooyoung asked, resisting the urge to burst out into laughter because seeing Nichkhun have hot chocolate spilled on him was about the funniest thing he’s seen all day and he had already watched Junsu fall up the stairs today.

“Well thanks for pointing out the obvious,” The older replied sarcastically, pulling the wife beater he was wearing underneath his t-shirt down so it would cover most of the stain not caring if it stretched the material because thanks to Sunye he had about thirty of them, he had once mentioned that he didn’t have enough wife beaters so she went out and bought him heaps.

“Here’s your hot chocolate sir. Once again I am really sorry,” The waiter apologised, bowing earning two equally as sweet smiles causing a dark blush to form on her cheeks as she quickly hurried away.

“I don’t think I want a drink now, I’ve had enough to last me the whole night,” Nichkhun mumbled with a pout, he was so humiliated and upset and overall just wanting his mummy.

The only person that actually knew he was a big baby was Taecyeon, when they were in second grade (when they both lived in America) his giant of a best friend had teased him about his eyebrows and how he was a baby for carrying around a teddy bear causing him to burst into tears. Taecyeon had then-him still being a giant and all back then-picked him up into his arms and rocked him like he had seen his aunt do to his baby cousin and within five minutes Nichkhun had stopped crying and was clinging to him sleeping peacefully.

Standing up he forced a goodbye out through his lips and stormed out of the café his only intent on going back to his dorm and sulking for a few hours before calling Taecyeon and ranting to him about what a crap day it had turned out to be. This had happened on more than one occasion.

“Waiiiiiit!” Wooyoung shouted, panting slightly, he really didn’t like running and even now he had no clue why he had run after the teen that he was sure wanted to rape him. But he did and oh boy was he regretting it.

Nichkhun turned around, scowl plastered on his face. The expression was instantly wiped off his face when the cute little raven ran into him, spilling his hot chocolate all over him. Again.

“Fuckshitfuckfuckfuck!” Nichkhun screamed immediately throwing his jacket to the ground, tearing the t-shirt and wife beater off of himself next, letting them drop to the ground carelessly.

He didn’t care anymore; his clothes could stay on the ground for all he cared. His whole stomach and chest felt like they were on fire, not to mention it was glowing red.  His happy-evil-genius-Thai-Prince-go-lucky mood rapidly changing to his I’m-fucking-pissed-off-now-leave-me-the-fuck-alone-before-I-toss-you-into-a-pit-of-acid-lava, yes acid lava.

Turning on his heel he continued to storm back down the street to the dorm building, not even worrying that every person he passed was ogling his body. They could stare all they wanted, he officially gave up on caring about anything except going to his dorm room and bawling his eyes out. He wanted his teddy bear, he wanted his mummy and he wanted Taecyeon and maybe a bag of ice.

Wooyoung felt horrible, he had always been clumsy but this was just ridiculous. After picking up Nichkhun’s discarded clothing and dropping his now empty cup into a bin he hurried after the Thai man, legs carrying him as fast as they could through the crowd.

The younger ended up catching up to Nichkhun just as he was about to enter the elevator of the dorms, he barely managed to slip through the closing doors and keep himself from falling over at the same time. Wooyoung knew Nichkhun was glaring at him but decided to keep his gaze focused on the ground as the elevator ascended to the sixth floor where Nichkhun’s room was.

Wooyoung walked slowly behind the older, his eyes still pinned on the ground, taking small almost hesitant steps towards the room he was, in spite of everything, still afraid he might get raped in. Tightening his hold on the bundle of clothes in his arms he tensed his left leg to make sure the small bottle of pepper spray was safely tucked away in his pocket (Junsu had insisted on buying it for him in situations like these).

Nichkhun sighed harshly, shoving his key into the hole and unlocking his door only to reveal even more of a mess than when he’d left. Sunye had been in the room while he was out.

“Sneaky girl,” He whispered to himself flinging off his shoes in the doorway and toeing one of her bras off of his bed, noting that some of the ones that were scattered around his shared dorm room weren’t hers (he only knew this because she had insisted on showing him so that he knew which ones were hers when he went to pick up the laundry).

Timidly peeking into the room the younger took one tiny step over the threshold and internally squealed for joy, he hadn’t been raped by Nichkhun yet. Everything was going good so far.

“Why did you follow me?” Nichkhun asked, a grimace contorting his features as he used his feet to kick all of the girl clothes to Sunye’s side of the room actually considering kicking her out if she didn’t start acting like a normal person and not leaving her clothes all over his neat room.

“Cause you left these a-and I wanted to apologise,” Wooyoung stuttered, padding up to the older and giving him the clothes, bowing and mumbling an apology at the same time.

A small sheepish smile played its way across his lips and that was it, Nichkhun was over being angry with him and back to wanting to do all those things his brain had been screaming at him not even half an hour beforehand.

“W-Why is there… them?” The raven asked in embarrassment, blush crawling onto his cheeks, staining them scarlet.

“My roommate likes to leave her clothes everywhere, littering my floor with her undergarments,” He explained awkwardly, the thought of even trying to clean his room of all the bras, singlets and underwear very repulsive and exhausting.

“Oh,” Wooyoung mumbled, watching with widened eyes as Nichkhun shut the door, his whole body tensing as his mind went into oh-my-god-I’m-going-to-get-raped mode. His slightly chubby fingers clenched the pepper spray in his pocket, knuckles turning white at the grip.

Nichkhun rolled his eyes at the expression  Wooyoung was sporting, stifling a chuckle as he undone the button on his jeans, pulling down the zipper that felt sticky from the hot chocolate before tugging his jeans down and throwing them into the bathroom ready for him to scrub at later.

The younger’s eyes widened when Nichkhun pulled down the jeans he had previously been wearing. His body was mesmerising, the snow white skin, the way his muscles rippled when he moved, everything about Nichkhun’s body was absolutely perfect to Wooyoung and that was a horribly scary thought for him since he was certain Nichkhun was going to rape him.

“Like what you see?” Nichkhun teased, cocky smile returning to his lips when he noticed the younger boy was staring at him wide eyed.

The raven’s already pink cheeks flushed crimson, slapping his hand over his eyes instinctively. He could hear the warm chuckle coming from the other however it only made his embarrassment worse, he was caught ogling another guy, how much worse could it get. As an afterthought he realized that it actually could get a hell of a lot worse.

Feeling slightly guilty for teasing the cute chubby cheeked boy until he was hiding himself from him Nichkhun inhaled deeply and walked over to the other and pulled his hand away from his face, smiling triumphantly when Wooyoung’s eyes were instantly drawn to his naked chest.

Wooyoung could feel his heart beat increasing until it was thrumming loud and harsh in his chest, the way Nichkhun was looking at him was producing this anxious feeling to swim around inside him. His eyes were dark and cloudy, like two black diamonds glistening under the sun’s rays.

And it was exhilarating, adrenaline coursed through his veins as Nichkhun inched closer, just slightly, eyes still connected with his, pink tongue swiping across his lips that were even closer than he remembered. He could feel Nichkhun’s breath, soft and shaky. The hesitance it was still there, like a silent question that was being repeated time and time again, asking, hoping, that each time it was asked the answer would be the same, ‘yes, please, I want it,’ and it was, even as their lips were millimetres from touching Wooyoung wasn’t moving away from him, he was staying right there, under the fingers that had trailed their way to rest on his cheeks. Lips were trembling by now and they weren’t his, they were causing the slight touches of flesh but they were trembling, shaking and it was his turn to ask, just a slight tilt of his head that had their lips practically pressed against each other’s and there it was. Soft, tender press of lips. Nothing more.

Wooyoung broke away first, his actions dawning on him like the utter shock horror he saw on people’s faces when they found out something life changing. He had just kissed another boy, his first kiss was given to a rapist, a very seductive special kind of rapist-a lip rapist.

Hands instantly flying to his pockets he pulled out the pepper spray and squeezed down on the trigger, spraying the older teen. His eyes taking most of the attack the younger had just sent at him. Wooyoung pushed him away, legs running him as fast as they could go out of the dorm room and towards his own dorm room two floors down.

“Jay, why did you run away from him again?” Kwon asked later that night when they were lying in Jay’s bed again (the older had pushed him out of the bed almost eight times but he had continued to come back so he gave up).

He glanced over to Jay who was turned on his side, blankets pulled all the way over his head in a statement that screamed he didn’t want to talk but this was Jo Kwon the greatest interrogator on the planet and he would get his best friend to talk if it was the last thing he did.

“Jay, do you actually like him?” He questioned seriously, watching as the other turned over and pulled the blanket to just under his eyes. He found the action rather adorable for Jay, who was just usually an idiot or occasionally sexy. “I can’t help you if I don’t know.”

“I-he-we-I don-he doesn-we can-” Jay stumbled, stopping and starting his sentences way too many times for his best friend’s liking.

“Okay, firstly. Stop being such a coward to say what you want. I love you no matter what, if not your best friend who is going to be the one to help you with your nonexistent love life?” Kwon teased good naturedly, patting Jay’s bed hair in a way of telling him ‘it’s okay just say it’.

The lump of blankets and Jay shifted again, curling until it was a ball. Jay really was a sook when it came to the cold, he piled on five comforters and slept in a large hoodie and track pants compared to his summer sleepwear, his briefs.

“I think… I like him… like more than just wanting to sleep with him…” Jay mumbled, his sleepy voice muffled by the thick blankets wrapped around his face.

“Well I’m glad you at least realised that.”

“Shut up,” Jay groaned, wishing he didn’t have to discuss this matter with anyone let alone Kwon who would just make fun of him. “I just don’t know what to do. I’ve never liked someone like him before. He’s popular and cool and me I’m just… I’m just me.”

“What’s so wrong with you Jay? There’s nothing wrong with you. When the hell did my best friend start worrying about what other people think of him? Huh, is this Ok Taecyeon so important that he can make you feel like you aren’t good enough you him? I’ll tell you something, no he isn’t! Jay you are handsome and caring beyond belief, there is nothing wrong with you. Anyone would be so lucky to have you so don’t let anyone make you feel like you aren’t good enough especially not some jock named Taecyeon,” Kwon stated stubbornly, wrapping his arms around the mass of blankets and Jay, pulling him closer.

“What am I supposed to do? I don’t know anything about him, I don’t even know if he’s interested in men. How am I supposed to even like someone I don’t know a thing about?” The other continued, his voice laced with that whiny tone he unintentionally uses when he’s sleepy and feels utterly helpless about something.

The look Kwon gave him made Jay feel like he was five and being scolded for knowing that he wasn’t supposed to eat cookies before dinner but having ate them anyway. “Now, will you tell me why you keep running away from him?”

“H-He makes me nervous, what else am I supposed to do. Stand there and make even more of a fool of myself?” Jay asked rhetorically earning himself another roll of Kwon’s eyes at his dramatics.

“Bye baby,” Changmin said, kissing his boyfriend softly before pulling away and trying to push him out of his car. He didn’t want Kwon to leave but he couldn’t let his boyfriend miss anymore days of school this week without getting into strife with Kwon’s mother and his mother would kick his ass.

Everyone was scared of Kwon’s mother except the diva himself. She loved him and spoiled him rotten and in turn he was the best gay son she could possibly have although she wasn’t too pleased with the fact he was going out with someone three years older than him.

Jay rolled his eyes at the two couples’s sweetness, Jinwoon and Seulong holding hands cutely in the back seat not wanting to part with each other and not allowed to do anything more because if they did Jay would be kicking Seulong’s ass to Timbuktu. Changmin had showed up at his house what seemed like minutes after he had finally dozed off with his best friend running his fingers through his hair (that was one of Jay’s ultimate weak spots, if someone done it just right he would just about give into anything), tipsy and lusty for his boyfriend. It ended up him having to listen to Kwon and Changmin get it on in his bathroom, his iPod earphones didn’t even block them out.

It was mentally scarring.

“Jay, look after Jinwoon and make sure those bullies don’t pick on him again,” Seulong said, his over protective nature showing with his words.

“Araso, araso, I got it, I got it,” He repeated rolling his eyes for what must’ve been the sixtieth time since he had gotten into the car with his friends. “Come on Jinwoon-ah,” Jay said turning into Jinwoon’s Jay appa once again, because even if he didn’t always act like it he loved Jinwoon like a son.

Jinwoon smiled cutely to his boyfriend, unhappy that he had to let go of the warm hand holding his gloved one, and exited the car after his Jay appa (who was patiently waiting with Jinwoon’s school bag in hand). He passed the bag to the maknae, nodding in silent agreement that he’d look after their boyfriends.

“Jay!” Taecyeon shouted breathlessly, he had seen the usual jeep pull up outside of the front gate and decided he really needed to talk to Jay. He had been up all night with Nichkhun who wouldn’t explain how he got pepper sprayed in the first place and the only other thing besides his Thai friend’s constant wails going through his mind was his decision to work out what the hell he and Jay were supposed to do and more importantly where they stood with each other.

Turning his head Jay caught sight of Taecyeon running up to him, his breath shooting puffs of smoke into the chilly air. Seeing the puffs of smoke made the Korean American teen remember how cold he actually was, even with three jackets on a long sleeved t-shirt a t-shirt and a wife beater he was still freezing his ass off, literally because his ass was extremely cold right now. The shorter raven shoved his hands into the pockets of his outer layer jacket, shrugging the hoodie up over the bottom of his face in an attempt to warm at least one part of his cold body up.

“Uhm… I think we need to talk,” The taller said confidently, the constant mantra of ‘you can do this’ playing in his mind.

Jay nodded, following Taecyeon obediently to wherever he was going to take him so they could talk. This was good, this was what needed to happen they needed to talk seriously. He had a few things he wanted to say to Taecyeon of his own and it was best if they just came out and said it.

“W-What do you want to talk about?” Jay asked nervously, sitting himself down onto the bench where Taecyeon had sat down, trying to bury his face further into his jackets.

“I-”

“Wait! I have something to say to you first,” The shorter interrupted, his eyes firmly fixed on the hole in the knee of his jeans, the small stringy tendrils tickling his skin. “I’m okay if you want to tell everyone we broke up so you don’t have to act like you like me, face it, it would be easier for both of us.” And sometimes Jay just wishes his mouth would do what he told it to instead of running wild and not obeying him.

This wasn’t what he had wanted to say, he had wanted to tell the taller teen that he actually may have been developing a crush on him. But it didn’t really go to plan. His stupid mouth had to say what it wanted.

“O-Oh…” Taecyeon breathed in disappointment.

This was not where he had intended the conversation to go. He had finally assembled enough courage to ask Jay out. It wouldn’t be anything special, okay he had constructed the perfect first date in his head (he still had no idea how he managed to with Nichkhun sobbing and wailing like a baby in his embrace). But because Jay had just stated he didn’t want to act like they were a couple anymore there was absolutely no point of even trying anymore.

“N-No that-shit-I didn-fucks sake Jay just say it. Man up,” He paused, turning on the bench to lock his gaze on the taller teenager who was staring back at him, the curiosity flickering in his eyes causing him to pull his bottom lip between his teeth.

“Are you cold?” Taecyeon asked, having noticed the way Jay’s body was shaking beneath the pile of jackets he was wearing.

Taking the sheepish smile as a yes Taecyeon gripped the scarf he was wearing, pulling it undone with a few tugs. After folding it in half he pushed Jay’s hood down (slightly surprised that he was wearing it considering he had noticed how much the dancing machine loved his hair) chuckling warmly at the cute pink tips of the shorter teen’s ears. Leaning closer to Jay (unknowingly causing the shorter teen’s breath to catch in his through) he placed the black material behind the Seattle man’s head, letting it rest around his neck, pulling the ends through the loop the fold had created. Tugging a few times to make sure the scarf was pulled tightly around Jay’s neck, smiling successfully when he found the older raven’s face having enflamed.

“Ears cold?” Taecyeon questioned softly, bringing his trembling fingers up to touch the frozen flesh. His mind internally squealing like a girl that Jay was letting him touch him without flipping out and going all Ninja Assassin on him.

Turning his attention to his bag sitting in front of him he unzipped it, rummaging through the contents to find the pair of black fluffy earmuffs his mother had bought him. Pulling them out of his bag he turned back to Jay who was beginning to look like an Eskimo, although he was the bloody cutest Eskimo he had ever laid eyes on. Or maybe a penguin, yes penguin was a much better comparison because penguins were naturally cute and fluffy and made him want to hug them.

Shaking the thoughts from his head quickly (worried that he might actually glomp the penguin looking Jay) Taecyeon fitted the earmuffs onto Jay’s ears, being careful not to muss up the mass of styled raven hair.

“Uhm… thanks,” Jay mumbled blushing madly.

“N-No problem,” The taller replied clearing his throat nervously looking away from Jay now his courage had completely vanished. Chancing a glance at Jay he found the shorter was a lot closer than he had remembered.

“C-Close your eyes,” He breathed, voice low and husky.

Taecyeon obeyed obediently, anticipation building in his stomach as he felt Jay’s breath on his skin, shivers running down his spine and it wasn’t because of the cold.

“I don’t want t-to break up with you,” Jay whispered softly, in that cute little kitten purr voice that he only seemed to use with Taecyeon (although he wouldn’t notice that until Taecyeon pointed that out to him a few weeks later), before speeding off from the bench, feeling totally embarrassed and slightly triumphant.

He was on the path to earning his balls back.
