Horses, Goats, and Cows, oh my!

Today, we went to visit Jarred and Vicki so that Jocelyn could see their critters. They have a pair of baby goats and 6 or 7 adult goats, a cow, 2 horses, and 3 dogs. They live out in the Kiln area, just a bit north of where I grew up, and have several acres of land. Their house is a log cabin, and it's lovely. I always wanted to live in a cabin when I was younger, but somehow gave up on that idea. Anyway... Jocelyn was thrilled to be going to visit them, because she loves Jarred to pieces and couldn't wait to go 'play'. They made burgers and hot dogs and cooked them up on the grill. After lunch, she had the opportunity to pet (and chase) the goats, feed the cow, pet, sit on, and feed the horse (an apple, squealing with delight every time he took a piece), and chase the dogs. She had a blast.

From there, we went to my parents' house, where Jocelyn put on her Nemo swimsuit, which is actually a boys swimsuit, and splashed around in the pool with Pop. Apparently the water was frigid, but at least it was jst about 9 inches deep, so they weren't submerged or anything. She had a blast, dumping water on Pop's head and just goofing off. Pop is her favorite playmate, that's definitely for sure. After swimming, it was off to the Mexican restaurant in the center of 'town', then home.

Ken's snoozing on the sofa, having taken Benadryl to calm his allergy attack. All of those animals were too much for him. Joc is in the recliner staring blankly at the tv watching her 'one episode' of Little Einsteins before I put her to bed. She's exhausted from playing so hard and not having had a nap at all today. I'll be getting her into bed in a couple of minutes, and then I can have the house to myself until I'm ready for bed. Nice.

Plans for tonight: watch a few episodes of some show or other, since I have so many queued up on Hulu and work on our Disney book before the photopass photos expire. I'll probably cheat and use the microwave to make s'mores for a snack, because I've been wanting some all day. (Dunno why, just do.)

Tomorrow? I need to work in the yard some more, but I also need to work in the guest room. We'll see which I'm in the mood for.

Ah, now, though, time to get the tiny one into bed. This should be fun, as exhausted Jocelyn is cranky-as-hell Jocelyn.
