So, Sam's status on gChat is "The only thing that separates Kool-Aid from Popsicles is patience."
That's not entirely true, as there's a bit of heat in the way.
The amount of heat needed to drop 2.5 ounces of room temperature Kool-Aid to freezing can be easily calculated.
H = M x spH x ΔT
Where
H = The amount of heat in calories
M = the Mass of the stuff
ΔT = the change in temperature.
spH = The specific heat of the Kool-Aid, which is so close to water, we're just gonna call it water.
So, we're looking to change ~74 grams of roughly-water (specific heat of 1cal/g°C) by about 20°C (room temp to 0°C)
So, H = 74g x 1cal/g°C x 20°C
which comes out to about 1480 Calories.
So, the only thing that separates Kool-Aid from Popsicles is patience and about 1480 calories.
Sam says I'm a jerk.
