regret
I just said something to my dad that I regret.
I was talking to my parents about a purchase I'm going to be making tomorrow. It's really none of their business that I'm spending this money, but I brought it up in conversation just to keep the conversation going. My dad then gave me this look, and my mom said to him "Oh, that look is so much like your dad's was." and I responded with "And we all know how well we got along with grandpa."
It was cruel. We didn't know my dad's parents very well. They didn't treat my mom very well, and my dad was always kinda nervous around his own parents. I never thought my grandparents were ever very excepting of our family. But I can't believe I said that to my dad.
The sad thing? I want to apologize, but yet I want him to apologize to me first for the look/reaction that he gave me.
*shakes head* So much for my new year's resolution of being nice to my parents no matter what.
