I think the early reports were probably for Friday, and everyone seemed pretty much in agreement that Sunday was much, much better than Friday. Friday sounded a little trainwrecky.
I think some of it probably does have to do with lack of time to rehearse: Nino mentioned in his J-web that there were scheduling issues since Jun was off in L.A., and Ohno was away in Osaka for his butai for a while (plus their schedules are just freaking insane at the moment on top of that). Also, apparently since Jun was so busy on movie promotion duty, people said he wasn't in charge of the concert this year. Nino and Aiba were the ones organizing it all. I wouldn't be surprised if that were true, it would explain why things felt a bit uneven in the setlist and organization just since they were responsible for it for the first time.
But yeah. They are trying to do too much, and yet with the lack of signature items in the concert, it all still felt like it wasn't enough somehow. In the last Dome, the atmosphere was electric, you could feel such a link

On Nino's J-web today, he said Jun was handling everything, so maybe it was just a rumor (unless he meant Jun is handling everything now?). I know they definitely said they chose the initial setlist without Jun there, so it's unsurprising that it got rehauled over the weekend for the second performance.
From Shukudai-kun, we know that they can almost do A-RA-SHI blindfolded, that's definitely not the problem. But, I spent the day reading reports, and people are all saying that the fan manners at Osaka this weekend were the worst they'd ever seen at an Arashi con. Apparently Arashi did speeches on Friday night but not Sunday, and it was suggested that the fans on Sunday were so awful that we were all getting punished for their sins

Thanks for the detailed report. It sure sounds like a very different concert experience this time. I think when they saw how crazy things were last year they assumed these dome tours would be good enough to let all the fans attend the cons. But the compromise to that is that they made too many changes in order to accommodate what I'm sure they think is a need to make it all "big". I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed somewhat, too, but maybe they'll change things by the time they get to Sapporo... ^__^
I've been reading the reports from other fans, and it really does appear that the root of the problems this time was that of the audience misbehaving. I mentioned it at the beginning of my report, but hoped it was only my area (even though that was bad enough, since we were right next to the stage and Arashi could definitely see people not participating and looking bored out of their minds). But apparently people said this weekend had the worst manners they'd ever witnessed at an Arashi con

I think this is the first detailed con repo I've read so far and it's really awesome. I was getting chills while reading and yeah, I almost cried at the bit at the end. No A-Ra-Shi huh... I hope it's not because they think they've gotta move forward. They're doing just fine anyway. I think maybe it was a result of Jun not being there when they were organizing the set list LOL
OHMIYA SK!!! Omg thank youuuu~~~ everyone just kept on saying how Ohmiya SK is back but no actual details so <3333
Thanks for writing such a detailed report, I've read others for Friday and I felt disappointed when they didn't sing A.Ra.Shi and throw signboards etc. but I guess it can't be helped when the audience reaction wasn't all that great. I hope the guys weren't to discouraged by the outcome and I hope their next concerts turn out better.
I feel really mad though, learning about the un-enthusiastic reaction. Honestly those fans... ARGH!! I'll stop my post here to refrain from ranting. Thanks again though for the report. ^_^
Yeah, I mean, you end up feeling a tiny bit lame if nobody is screaming or dancing along with you, and that's just in the audience. I couldn't help thinking that it must be a worse feeling for the members up on the stage trying to make it fun, with people in the very front rows not responding to them at all. :/ So I really hope Nagoya goes well and both Arashi and the fans get to have fun together.

Gimmick Game was seriously the highlight of the entire concert. It was already my favorite solo, and the performance just blew me away. <3
