ORC Postcard/Flyer Photos

ORC needs me to do a postcard type flyer they can use over the next couple of seasons to recruit members. Being that they want to attract the largest possible target audience, I decided to take some shots of one of the Learn to Row boats, which would most likely have the most diverse demographic of rowers in one boat. This one did: younger/older, male/female, different races, and there were even some experienced rowers in the boat to help out the newbies. Another restriction was I needed to be pretty vague about who was in the shot (ie no faces.)

I took these on Friday, after our practice. I have just done some basic ACR work, no major Lab Color edits or clone stamping and bringing out specific highlights on some areas. My idea was to make a most card in the "Greetings From" style, with giant ORC letters and "The Orlando Rowing Club" written underneath that. As a backup plan, you can see especially in some of the later shots I was using the water as a potential negative space area to place text. There's also a few source photos of sunrises and water textures in the mix to pull from if need be.
