1. Hmmmm...well my son was my 22nd birthday gift. We have the same Birthday! He is a lot more excited about his birthday than I am now that I am on the otherside of 30. He's just turning 10, double digits! Happy bday John! (OMG! My baby is 10!)
2. I have been a Yankee fan most of my life, but my real passion growing up was basketball. I loved Michael Jordan. My husband once gave me the best Anniversary gift by taking me to see Jordan play when he was with the Wizards, even if he wasn't that great by then. (I am not as fond of him now that I am older and wiser. He was a tool in his HOF acceptance speech.)
3. I cope with the blues by dyeing my hair different colors or chopping it off...or possibly both! I once got pink streaks when the hubby was deployed. I am currently looking for the next hair color and cut. I am thinking about going lighter for once and trying the whole carmelizing thing or maybe adding some blonde for something different. I always do shades of red.
4. I bite my nails and have since kindergarten, so I wash my hands a bazillion times a day. My husband is in public health and tells me how disgusting it is, so I overcompensate by washing my hands lots and lots.
5. I am a complete pacifist, but I somehow manage to be all about girl power. I have an awesome retro shirt with Wonder Woman, Catwoman, and Super Girl. I always gravitate towards strong women in literature, comics, TV, and movies. I can't stand weak female characters that are all about men. Most of my fics feature strong women, or if they were not originally strong, then they will be in my stories.
6. I have a huge shot glass collection. We have collected glasses from everywhere we have traveled. We've driven across country twice and traveled all over Europe, so that's A LOT! I also have a collection of Yankees shot glasses from the WS, opening season at the new Yankee Stadium, and a few random ones that are just cool. We're actually runnng out of places to put them.
7. I started going gray at 16. I remember, because a friend of mine plucked a hair and I tried to convince her it was blonde. It was actually completely white. It's nice and obvious in my naturally dark brown hair. That is possibly where # 3 stemmed from. I tried just letting it go a couple years ago, until a co-worker said, "Wow! I thought you were like 22 until I saw all your gray." Yeah, I gotta dye my hair again, like now.
