[That is definitely not a tree.] “Well, that’s a new one.” Jack blinked as he walked around the unexpected object. “Usually it’s trees. And then more trees. And then even more trees.” He scowled as he continued his circuit. “Daniel, didn’t you say this planet had a culture based on ancient Sumeria?” Daniel looked at Jack in surprise. “You were paying attention?” Jack just glared expectantly at him in response.
“Ah, right, of course,” Daniel stuttered, recovering from his surprise. “Yes, definitely ancient Sumerian based on the images from the UAV, I mean the architecture suggested by the ruins, the petroglyphs, the engraved characters…”
“Ah!” said Jack shortly, holding up his hand. “Got it, Daniel. Don’t need to hear it again.”
Daniel rolled his eyes.
“Okay,” drawled Jack, “so, given that the culture was from ancient Sumeria, why the hell would there be a British phone booth here?” Jack gestured emphatically toward the blue police box in front of them.
“Well, Jack, it’s not exactly a phone…” Daniel trailed off as the door of the blue box suddenly opened. Out stepped a tall thin man in a brown jacket and red bowtie. He was followed shortly after by a much shorter red haired woman. “Good day!” said the man in a loud, chipper voice. They then marched past them with big smiles on their faces and then disappear into the surrounding brush.
