So I've been meaning to update for ages, but alas, I'm either lazy, scattered, or forgetful.
I spent my first weekend home from school in Florida, visiting my ailing grandparents. Sadly, the visit went just as poorly as I thought it would. I spent 3 days in hot, muggy Florida, staying with my Aunt and Uncle. Out of those three days (or rather, and evening, a full day and the following morning), my grandparents were only around for a couple of hours. Out of those couple of hours, they only actually spoke to me for a few minutes. But that's how it usually is. I spent the rest of the time with my aunt, who I've never really gotten along with. Although, she did inform me that she "decided what I should do with my life," and proceeded to tell me that physical therapy was bullshit and I should be an ultrasound tech. She's a character...
I've been working at Winthrop Hospital for over a month now. It's been quite an experience so far... I can't complain for the most part, because I really get to be quite involved and I get to see a lot. Unfortunately, it tends to be quite depressing because I usually deal with geriatric patients (and you know they aren't coming out). I spent the other week on Maternity and Pediatric though, and that was a tad better than usual. Newborns are just so damn cute.
The Stonybrook class is going to be the death of me. Aside from the fact that the professor is beyond incompetant, it's 6 hours a day, 3 days a week for 6 weeks, learning about invertebrates. I just don't find them very interesting. But it's really the drive that gets me. I have to wake up at 7am for a 9:30 class and it takes me an hour to drive each way. Thank god the class is over soon...
After the class finishes, things should pick up a little bit. My GRE class starts on July 11, but I don't think it'll be too bad. At the very least, it's only 4 hours a week for a month. Then I have to work on grad school applications and get my CPR and First Aid certifications...
Anywho, that's all for now
