A new direction

I met with Dan the Man this morning over Starbucks, and after a lot of talking, I have decided to pursue a Masters in voice performance. Whee! I think that this is going to be a really good decision for me, and it makes a helluva lot more sense than spending another 3 years spinning my wheels in another bachelors program.

Basically, though, I don't think I could stick with the bachelors of music ed. even if I wanted to. I was offered some scholarship money from the school, but it wasn't enough to cover tuition. Since I am no longer eligible for student loans or financial aid of any kind, I would be footing about $3k in tuition costs for each semester, and I just straight up can't afford that.

So. The great Aria Throwdown of 2008 is about to begin. I'm going to the library this weekend (possibly tonight?) to get a bunch of new music, and start knocking it out. I hope to have everything pretty well done by fall, so we can just put a polish on them before Summer program auditions in October and November. Also, major workout plans need to be put into action to build up my physical strength and stamina, which is what is holding me back more than anything else in my studies right now.

I'm turning 26 in a month, and I think I might actually have a life plan. Woo!
