Hello, all...Its been an eventful, yet still mostly calming day here at Châteaux de Vieux Louisville. I went back to work today for my first full day in several months, and was officially tearing my hair out by mid-day. It's not that I'm not used to working a full 8 hour day, I'm just used to having a break in the middle of the day for classes. I did get a lot done, though, and Misty took me out for lunch at our favorite Mexican place to celebrate being at work at the same time again. That was followed by a nice walk and a free smoothie from our favorite local barrista. Fabulous.
I came home, chilled out for a bit, and prepared for an evening trimming the border grasses back to make way for new growth around the four planter sections in the courtyard. This chore is way overdue, and though I haven't been asked (or paid) to do it, I live here too, and would rather see vibrant green border lavender this year instead of green in a nest of dead brown crap.
That little foray into gardening was cut short by a family emergency and a trip to the hospital. Everyone is Ok, though, and I'll let Jason give more details about that if he so chooses. Got home again in time to make a dinner (more beans....this time in quesadillas) and for Jason to go back up to Campus to work on his research project.
I did get to spend some time outside working, though, before it has gotten totally dark. I spent about half an hour and got midway around one bed. I think, now that I have a technique down, I should be able to go faster tomorrow. Now if I can just get the rain to hold off...While in the backyard, the nieghboor dog came over to the fence to bark madly at me, and I thus struck up a conversation with Mad Female neighboor (mad as in a little nutso, not mad as in angry) and in the course of said convo, she asked me if I hired out for yard work. And indeed, I do hire out, though I am nothing like a professional. I must remember to give her my card tomorrow sometime. I could certainly use the extra cash.
Also, the search for a waitressing job continues...
