Ok world, it's time to wake up and calm the fuck down.

There's a reason why acting is called ACTING. The people ACTING are not the same as their characters. So no I do not have a problem with a straight guy playing gay or a cisgender whatever playing a transgender character.

Because when it all comes down to it, THEY ARE ACTING.

I firmly believe that whoever can play the role best should be the one to play the role. I don't care about your real-life identity. To focus too much on a real person's identity can leave a performance cold and empty. And so many of the movies/roles that involve GLBT people have important messages that should not be ignored because of a) bad acting that makes them unwatchable, or b) they didn't pick the right real-life identifying people.

Not everyone can act, and not every actor can play every role.

So maybe I'm a bad social justice fighter (not the first time it's ever been said about me) but there are some fights that really don't advance your cause a whole lot, and this is one of them.
