Writer's Block: More Island Time

Mar 03, 2009 17:34

First, I make sure I pack a brass lantern, an air pump, a small pile of plastic with a valve attached, and a couple of oars.

(yes, I've been relaxing by playing Zork I)

Seriously--five books:
I'd bring my current reading stack:
2666 by Roberto Bolaño
Anathem by Neal Stephenson
Against the Day by Thomas Pynchon
The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman
The Yiddish Policeman's Union by Michael Chabon
I'd bring a stack of Jesse Stones and Sunny Randalls. I need my Robert B. Parker.

I'd want to have something fun like Hiaasen or Tim Powers.

Oh fuck it. The bag's too heavy. I'll stay home, read, and listen to some nice music.

Besides I can't go to that island--I don't have anywhere to plug in the BIPAP machine....

desert island, writer's block, books
