Sailing to Ithaca: Dark Odyssey 2008

Sep 16, 2008 05:45

This was my first DO Summer Camp. Didn't have enough time there with the Friday arrival but still had an amazing time. No drama, no crying jags, no bad emotional stress attacks. Very ultramarine and ultra-serene. Also I made some new friends. reconciled some old drama and buried a few well placed hatchets around camp.

    Friday:
  • As always, the drive south with tootlelulu Introducing her to side one of marillion.com followed by The Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety on the way down to camp. Last songs on the drive: "Between Heaven and Hell" and "Road Back Home" by Zakk Wylde.

  • Drumming for passionandsoul's ritual space. Haven't been in rit since 2005, I needed that. Playing drum for two hours or so in the rain and having it feed my service needs. Breaking a cherry too--I don't generally play music in public.

  • Got my shoulder massaged at the Roman baths (thanks Dave!)

  • Discovering the beautiful thing that is Tent City for much needed and deserved cigar time with RtB, Den and the crew. Eventually, I had two chairs on campus: one in Tent City, one on my cabin deck. I sometimes have anxiety at camp at not having a place to land--to crash. Having one on either side of Ramblewood really helped.

    Saturday:
  • Walked out of the dining hall at breakfast and into a scene. I know why the caged girl comes--I was holding her hand when it happened.

  • Hanging out in the pool all day. Swimming, waterfighting, more flirting--enough to get the Mikado steamed. Demonstrating punching in the pool then introducing myself to the couple I was punching.
And the con job of the weekend: introducing myself as an Austrian tourist named Hans at his first leather event. Ach du lieber!

  • Finishing up my chores in time to go to Bobby's cigar class--a camp tradition!

  • Getting to smooch lots of hot people. Wow. I was a kissin' bandit.

  • Randy's Wheel of Meat. This is a barbecue and game show (only at camp) with delicious consequences. Mmmm. Pork loin. Kebabs. Chicken Sticks. Well tenderized. Much love to Bruce, the Chef of the Future!

  • The fire-spinning rave. Wow.

  • Needed chill and cuddle time with a hot booted blonde in the Peep Show Room in the Sex-O-Rama. Peeping with hot peeps. Peep! Peep!

    Sunday:
  • Impromptu singing moments. A loud chorus rendition of "I'm Tired" (Blazing Saddles.) Me doing "High Anxiety" in the pool.

  • Meeting Nina Hartley. Taking five minutes to figure out who she was. Later, a private word, complementing on her on my favorite of her movies--the one she gets to die in. "Shut the goddamned door, Little Bill!"

  • Whipcracking in the field. God I'm out of practice. I overextended my wrist ligaments. Ow.

  • Cigars and Chocolate Sunday night: hot smoke, hot people, hot energy, hot ash. A Gurkha Ancient Warrior whose remnants wound up being smeared on luxurianbeast.

  • Riding shotgun on the golf cart with DelMar: driving and singing "Word Up!" loud at 2am with a gorgeous girl go-go-dancing on the back apron as we roared up the hill. What a way to waste fuel!

    Much love to:

  • Kilts. This was my first camp with free locomotion.

  • My cabin family. Pyro, Slutress, sammi, Ming, babygirl, KnotSteve, SensualSadist, and new arrivals too--you all are reasons I come to camp.

  • Ally Sin--whose service and anticipation skills remind me of Radar O'Reilly on M*A*S*H.

  • My good, good friends with unbelievable energy that sustains and nourishes for a weekend. There is MORE to camp than sex and SM. Those are fun, but disposable. The energy and friendships are permanent.

Not bad for three days, huh.

    OK, More sleep now.
