Kick Ass Friday

I am having one seriously productive day. I think it has something to with the fact that it's 8/8/08, or that the first line item on the list has reduced my stress considerably. You decide.

Bullet-points time:

• There was a major breakthrough on my mother's apartment, specifically that my lawyer is going to draw up a contract (at last) reducing my anxieties about getting the sale completed. I have to draw up one document by Monday and things will finally really be rolling. Yes, this means that in the next few (very crowded) weeks I have to start getting the apartment cleared out but it also means that a big chunk of my inheritance will stop being a debit and start being an asset.
  
  
• I accepted an assignment and am negotiating price for it.
  
  
• I thought long and hard about novel writing for the first time in a long time. Now I need to create space where I can do it!
  
  
• I got a decent Priceline flight to Indy, nonstop. No bus for me!
  
  
• I negotiated travel times and arrangements for Sunday's concert.
  
  
• I helped a good friend do his cover letters for an internship application by doing copy-editing and rewrites. No, I don't do that for everybody.
  
  
• I wrote and submitted my presenter bio and class description for BR 2008. You can read it here
  
  
• I double-checked our reservations for Floating World (we're good) and our hotel room (ditto--we're in the overflow)
  
  
• I had the opportunity to get a free room (on points) at the overflow hotel for GLLA but instead I'll settle for splitting a room in the host hotel. This will make the event easier on me and ultimately less stressful--I learned that the travel time between the hotels is unacceptable if you don't have a car and this way I won't miss anything. Well, theoretically.
  
  
• I pulled off my first successful football trade of the 2008 season, sending
  DL Haloti Ngata, Baltimore Ravens
  LB Shawn Crable, New England Patriots (rookie)
  and TE Donald Lee, Green Bay Packers
  
  to the Suffolk 8ers in exchange for
  
  QB Jon Kitna, Detroit Lions
  TE Dustin Keller, New York Bretts I mean Jets (gotta have Favre's tight end)
  and DB Michael Griffin, Minnesota Vikings.
  
  More trades to follow. I have two already proposed.
  

So I feel good, I feel productive and I am getting my shit together.

Oh did I mention I got a 3500 word major feature assignment for the IHT due in just 12 days?
