Unter den Linden

One of the most pleasant reminiscences from my recent trip to London was blooming Linden trees in Hyde Park.

I was sure all linden trees have bloomed and lost their lush flowers in New York long time ago. So I was tremendously delighted to find that 94th street near my apartment in Bay Ridge is full of fragrant, blooming lindens. Almost as glad as the bumblebee sitting on a tree:

The first blooming lindens I saw this year were at the Monticello, in Virginia. They gave me strange impression, as if I have seen them before. I recalled the story a tour guide told me in Versailles - that after a devastating storm in 1999 state of Virginia donated thousands of linden trees to replant the Gardens of Versailles.
