War on mouse poo
One day this week, I went to a friend's flat and:
Put on my glamorous rubber gloves. (These ones are extra long with a floral cuff that taper out.)
De-scaled the cold tap (having first soaked the scale in vinegar/kitchen paper/clingfilm).
Cleared away the stuff on the draining board, gave it a wash and put it away.
Cleaned the kitchen sink and draining board.
Took the sticky label off a draining rack, used sticky label to remove excess stickiness (like with waxing!), wiped and rinsed draining rack.
Dusted the top of a kitchen cupboard. Removed contents of said cupboard, putting most food in the bin as was olllllld. Cleaned the cupboard. Put stuff back in the cupboard when dry.
Made coffee mmmmm bounce.
Removed contents of small worktop, put in bag/bin where appropriate. Cleaned small worktop.
Spent an hour cleaning the black things that go on a gas hob that hold the pans away from the flames. Old grease, thick and stuck hard. Now very clean! Cleaned marvellously crusty hob.
Quickly removed contents of large worktop, cleaned said worktop *whilst being watched by a stranger*. Plenty mouse droppings and grease.
Opened the door of the microwave. Looked inside. Put a cup of water/vinegar in for 5 minutes [on full power] ... didn't make much difference. More coffee.
Tackled microwave. Much scrubbing with gentle things. Cleaned outside of microwave. Moved microwave... hello mouse poo. Swept where microwave was, cleaned worktop.
Moved microwave back, cleaned trail of mouse poo away.
Looked at healthy grill thing. Cleared fatty greasy build-up from drip tray, washed it. Wiped inside of grill several times. Wiped outside of grill, wiped wire.
Did other stuff that involved cleaning things.
Swept floor. Much dust stuck to greasy deposits, so had a little think. Used wet floor wipes to sweep up more mouse droppings and dust bunnies. Mopped the whole floor. Got on my knees with two buckets, one sponge, and one cloth. Scrubbed/wiped/rinsed/scrubbed/wiped/rinsed. Got cloth to catch more dust bunnies and bits of mouse poo. Mopped floor again. Wiped floor again. Finally beat the f*cking floor into submission. The floor area was probably less than 15 square foot!
I really really enjoyed myself. I love cleaning other people's fantastic filth :D
