Books and desire

I am re-reading Small Gods by Terry Pratchett. This makes me a happy bunny. I really like the opening paragraphs. It's different to most discworld novels¹ in that it doesn't start by describing the discworld (on the backs of 4 elephants which stand on Great A'Tuin the turtle who is swimming through space)... maybe because it is set in Omnia, and Omnianism's thesis is that the world is a sphere.

The only good thing about my concentration problems (which seem to manifest themselves as memory problems) is that I forget large chunks of the books I have read/films I have seen etc. So, apart from some things that feel happily familiar I can re-read books many times and not get bored. I've only read Small Gods about four times though.

I had a damn good time yesterday on this post replying to the comments of those I fancy and having people say they fancy me. Someone anonymous said "I must confess that I fancy you like crazy, but I'm too shy to tell you who I am for fear of putting you off." Ooh, how tantalising! Was it one of you perchance? There are a couple of people for whom that statement would be appropriate coming out of my mouth (clumsy sentence, sorry, couldn't think how to word it).

I really worked my abs yesterday. They are hurting, but in a good way.

¹ If I remember correctly... which is unlikely.
