Good stuff:

I thought my desktop had died, but all that had happened was that the power cable had come loose and it switched on happily when I pushed it in.

I went for my first swim this year in one of the Hampstead ponds. It was *so* good to swim in such cold water after the hot weather of the last few days. The pretty spring flowers were out. I spotted some snowbells, English bluebells, and forget-me-nots. I love Hampstead Heath.

Not so good stuff:

Between September and April (inclusive) if you want to swim in the Mixed pond you have to be a member of the winter swimming club... because I'm not a member I had to swim in the Ladies Pond. It is damn beautiful there though.

I rather panicked at the computer thing for a while. I don't feel able to cope with a lot of non-urgent problems at the moment. I'm glad I could sort it so easily... I'm glad that I'm not too computer stupid.

I'm currently drinking a bottle of Batemans Spring Breeze which I'm finding rather curious. There's a mild taste to begin with, followed by mild bitterness, followed by a sickly feeling. I won't drink it again, but I couldn't resist some of the blurb on the bottle: "Demeter Goddess of spring and fertility... a beer from the Gods!" Young's St George's to follow. I started off with Wychwood's Fiddler's Elbow (link may not work in a while).

Does anyone want to meet up with me in the next few days/next couple of weeks? I don't want to go further than about 25 miles. Cafe, pub, walk, lunch, something else.

Could one of you localish with a digital camera that is happier and healthier than mine take a few pics of me wearing my new binder & not wearing my new binder? With clothes on. I'd appreciate it.

beer, socialising
