i'm seriously considering studying at the Moscow Art Theatre next semester. however, it's kind of a big decision to make, and i've been conducting some informal polls on the subject. my teachers are all very much in favor; my mother is rather opposed ("you want to go to Russia?!?!").
what do you think? here's a
link to the site - i'd really like your opinion!
it'd be an intense, amazing theatrical experience. you don't need to know russian to go, and besides, i quite like vodka. while it is mostly performance focused (and i wanna be a director) it's still very valuable - i firmly believe that to be a director you must be an actor too. i've never been out of the country (though i will be going to italy this summer for a couple weeks) and i feel like this would be an energizing, motivating experience and a chance to totally immerse myself in theatre (and be sure that this is truly what i wanna spend my life doing). also, it would cost the same amount as my current tuition. nearly all of my friends are going abroad that semester (but none to moscow) and i feel it would be awfully hard to stay here w/o them.
anyway, what'd'ya think?!?
