I probably should have entitled this entry "The 7th Inning" or something, but, I like horses and I don't really like baseball (particularly since that fateful day in '57 - c'mon, you know what I'm talkin' 'bout).
Anway, it's the final stretch. College is about to start again, and I can't wait. My itinerary is as follows:
8/12-8/20 New York City; workin', chillin'
8/21-8/23 Martha's Vineyard for Sean's houseparty!
8/24-8/28 New York City
8/29-9/4 Home in NoVA
So, yeah, it should be a busy (and fun) 3 1/2 weeks. But I probably won't get to see a lot of you to say 'bye and I'm sorry 'bout that. Maybe this jet-setting lifestyle I've been living for the past 3 months does have some downsides. And, given the chance, I probably wouldn't do this summer again in the future. It was nice and certainly the working in NYC part time had quite a lot going for it, but it was also draining and I never was anywhere long enough to get settled or feel totally at home.
This fall is looking like it'll be just wonderful. And not just 'cause I'm directing a play (December 6-8 -- come see it! i'm only a trainride away!). And to all those of you about to go to college for the first time, ENJOY IT!!!, it's amazing.
Alright, this concludes my fireside talk.
