Janie wrote a bit more, finishing up a problem before carefully folding the paper and looking over at Vito.
"I try to stay away from your stove."

"We should talk, however. I ignored you because I feel guilty."

"Anyway ... guilty about what?"

Then, she realized that maybe he wasn't interested in the equations at that moment.
"I, uh- but you need to understand. Some things about myself I can't tell you, I can't tell anyone. and I'm really terrible with being in functional relationships."

"Okay, why are you unable to talk about these things?"

"I can tell you why I feel so terrible and what happened but fear I'll hurt you and that would be horrid. You must have realized that Lynn and I have been keeping secrets. She does like you, however."

She paused "That's why I'd insisted on casual, but this seems more than that somehow. And, I'm still getting my own place once I figure out how the schools work with no records and I have the money. Please don't throw me out."
Janie smiled when Vito said Lynn was brilliant. "She's evil, but still amazing."
