Vito looked up and around quickly when the lights went out.
"Nica?"
"Yeah?" His cousin was in the kitchen, and had been standing in front of the open refrigerator looking for a snack.
"What'd you do this time?"
"That wasn't me," she said.
"You sure?"
"Pretty sure."
"What were you doing just before the lights went out?"
"Wondering if the little light in the refrigerator shuts off when you close the door."
"So, it's your fault."
Nica sputtered. "No! Jeez, Vito!"
"To your left, there's a drawer ... look in there. Should be a couple of flashlights."
He heard Nica rummaging. "Sure ... no problem ... looks like there are a few ... "
Vito's cell phone rang. "Yes?" he answered, taking a light that Nica handed to him.
