"Let's go drive till morning comes and watch the sunrise and fill our souls up..."
My weekend was amazing. It definitely was one of the better weekends since I've been here at UF. Yay! Alex came to visit me:) Friday I took my friend out to Fedex. She got a new phone and Cingular is dumb and wrote the wrong name on the package so our dorm refused it. Fedex is all the way out in Northeast Gainesville, almost in Alachua. I felt so uncomfortable. They don't like black people in that area. Friday night was spent at the mall, shopping and messing with people. After that, we had dinner and then my friend had some friends coming in from Miami. They took the bus up so I picked them up in Commuter Lot and took them to where they were staying. They're pretty cool guys who wouldn't believe me when I told them that my hair was real.
I got up mad early on Saturday to volunteer for MINAMBA. It wasn't that bad actually. I met some pretty cool people, including this one guy who grew up in Alachua (not the county, but the city). He was really down-to-earth. After that, I went to some bootleg birthday party. I left right after I ate because I had to get ready for the step show, which was pretty good. I had no idea that the US Army had a step team. They were amazing. Phi Beta Sigma and the AKAs were good too.
I had a bad experience at Macy's on Sunday. I went to the Mac section and was asking the girl about some eyeshadows. I really liked this one color. It was black with red glitter in it. It sounds weird but it was pretty. I asked her what I could do with it since it was so dark and she said that I could "line my lashes and smoke it up." I made the mistake of asking her to show me what that would look like. She lined my lashes and then brought the eyeshadow up so I looked like I had wings or claws. It was terrible. So I wiped it off and then she started talking about a shadestick. She really wanted to put it on me so I let her. It was so white and then she put the same black eyeshadow over the crease. Alex was with me and he started cracking up. Then she was like, "Isn't it pretty?!" In the dark.
Alex and I played Assassins through Adrian and then I stayed with Alex in the Reitz Union Hotel Sunday night. It had an amazing view of the campus. I wanted to take pictures but that didn't work out.
I'm currently trying to decide if I'm going to do the whole Summer B thing again or if I'm going to stay home the entire summer. What is everyone else doing this summer? This weekend should be great. I can't wait to see Family Reunion!
I know that my AIM etiquette hasn't been the best in the past few weeks, but I'm going to try my best from now on. When I say "brb" then I'm going to "be right back" and I'm going to try to put up away messages and not go idle in the middle of conversations. I know everyone does this stuff but it's kinda rude so I shouldn't do something that I find to be annoying when other people do it to me. Everyone have a good week!
