I got home! It was a fun surprise for my parents. Not as good as last year's, but still pretty fun. Haha.
Most students were actually in class on Friday, but only one read the directions initially and three after the fact. Everyone else is making me grade quizzes over the break. Boo.
We had a lunch meeting with one of the board members to talk about how the geology department could help a group with a proposal about getting Earlham to divest in energy resources that aren't fossil fuels. It was interesting to hear everyone talk, but I couldn't add anything to the conversation.
With that over, I got home, packed up everything, and hit the road. I decided to take the I-69 route since I knew I'd hit Louisville at rush hour if I went that way. I hit a little traffic as soon as I got on the two lane, but otherwise it wasn't a bad drive. I did get nervous going into Henderson because my fuel gauge was SUPER low and that started to freak me out, but no worries. I was home just before 8.
Sleep last night was near impossible though. I had Molly hating on Lucy and Lucy wanting to sleep right up against me. She's at least a lot more forgiving of movement than Molly is. But at 4 or so, Lucy was on my pillows and Molly was on the tv stand (furniture has been completely rearranged by Dad to accommodate not burning the house down by having his computer on old wiring) and there was nothing but growling and hissing coming from the black one.
Therefore, today was all about being lethargic. I got a good hour's nap in between 9:30 and 10:30 (or so) but still never felt like doing much. I figure lack of sleep and general menstrual lethargy just dealt me in completely. But, it's not bad to come home and do absolutely nothing for a time :)
