Florence and Venice
This is my next project. My London classes end on May 5th, and I do not fly home from London until May 16th, giving me 10-ish days to make this trip. I know I said I wouldn't do Italy, but I'm only trying to do TWO cities in Italy here. Rome, Milan, Naples, etc will have to wait. Anyone been to Florence and/or Venice? I don't know how big the cities are or how much there is to do or see. My guess if that there's a wealth of arts and art history in Florence, so my plan was to spend a little longer in Florence than Venice because I get the impression that Venice is beautiful beautiful beautiful, but not quite as rich in activity. True?
Also, would I be crazy to fly in from Venice at around midnight, then to fly out of London the afternoon/early evening? I keep thinking I should give myself a breather, but then I say "Nahh, I'll just arrive in NY and crash on grandma's couch."
