aw. yessss voice lessons are god in musical theatre..lol. i get lessons from kate briante, a theatre teacher at my school who does private lessons for lots of children and teens. if you want i can find her number for you sometime...you can take a lesson with her and see if you like her style or not. she lives in towson. there are SO many teachers out there to get lessons from, its really all a matter of finding one who you mesh well with, who is close enough that weekly lessons are convienent, and who will let you be the boss...its very important in lessons that you are in control ...of course the teacher will help and guide you in choosing songs, learning how to audition, etc., but ultimately you have the control to choose what you want to work on and how you want to do it. [hey, you are the one paying. haha] there's also a branch of peabody in towson that has voice teachers, i have a few friends that study there. last summer i studied with a woman named jennifer viets who was fabulous, but she lived about 40 minutes away and the commute was just too much. she lived semi-near ellicot city. i could find her number as well. one of my friends studies with a woman named ruth hewlitt who comes to carver afterschool to give lessons. she is a very sweet lady and has helped a lot of people, so i hear. i could get that number.
voice teachers are really everywhere and all you need is a number to call and schedule a trial lesson... and let me know if i can get you any numbers or help wiht anything else! =)
