My name is Nichole and I am eighteen years old. I live in Wernersville Pennsylvania and I want so badly to get out of my house. I found your name through a search I did of LJ users that live in NYC. I had been searching because I want to find out costs of Brooklyn apartments. I know that I can consult any relator, but those crooked bastards just want money and will tell me anything to get me to lease an apartment. I was just curious if it is incredibly expensive to live up there, and if it would be worth it for me to even attempt moving there. I'm kind of in a situation right now with my parents and I really just want to get out. Also, are there any colleges that are close to being affordable? Because most of the ones I saw were really expensive.
If you can offer me any information, please comment back.
Thank you very much Steve. I really don't know what I'll do. $800 is really, really expensive. Around here, people pay like $200 a month and complain because their friend is staying somewhere where they pay $150. We're about 20 miles from Amish Country, everything's relatively cheap. $150 between two room mates is common rent. Although it is cheap here, I need to get out of this area regardless of how much it'll cost me. If I don't do it now, I feel that I never will. And my worst nightmare is to end up married, knocked up and in Wernersville by the ripe age of twenty one. I am desperately trying to become a VJ so I can just move to NY. Ha ha. MTV is having a casting call for VJ's and I'm sending my tape. So if you ever happen to watch MTV'S WHO WANTS TO BE A VJ? and you see an eighteen year old girl from Wernersville PA with long dark hair, that's me. Vote for me, I beg you. It's my only way out....thanks again.
You are very welcome. When you pay $200 a month, do you mean renting while being roomies with someone or having your own place? Also, I thought that the "WHO WANTS TO BE A VJ?" show ended, but I guess they do have one everytime they need a new VJ...I'll definitely vote for you if I see you on there! Do you have a picture? Just curious to see how you look. If you do, my e-mail address is steve@stevez.net. If you want to talk sometime, IM me on my AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) screen name, young.
Steve, I am completely retarded when it comes to computers. I don't know how to get AIM and I don't have a scanner...it sucks. Do you have any pictures posted? If you split an apartment here, it can be like $200 per person. But there are actually some places for rent that are nice and like $300 a month, so split that between 2 or 3 people and you got a deal...If you don't mind waking up to the odious smell of manure and the sound of rackety horse and buggies. Do you go to college? Are there ANY colleges in New York that aren't freakin' ridiculous? I have to get out of this place... And also, is it true that the Stokes roam around the East Village a lot? That's awesome. You're so lucky to live there. My friend's aunt lives in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn and it is so nice there. I bet it's expensive though.
