a note to the fan community

I have noticed a decided increase in cynisism, in the fan community. It seems that many fans (not all of them) can't sit through a movie that they supposidley like, without picking out every little scientific fault or supposed plot hole. Its a sad day when "fans" spend more time bitching about the movies they "like", than they do praising them. Now, they are entitled to their own opinion. However, they many times use the phrase "this was not a real(insert movie name here) movie, or "He cant do that". The two types of fans that are most prone to saying this that I have seen, are Star Wars and Godzilla fans. I have responses to both of them.

First, Star Wars. George Lucas can do whatever the hell he wants with the series. If he wants to do a 34-hour movie that consists entirly of Chewbacca, Luke, and Yoda on a Gaffnarien moon, spanking themselves with Toydariens while dancing the Ballero, He can do that. He's the creator. As for continuity errors, I think the CREATOR would be able to keep track of his creation's continuity. Lastly, science errors. Its A MOVIE! It does not have, nor does it need, to have perect scientific explanations for every thing that happens. It is make believe. That's what makes it good.

Second, Godzilla. The only fake Godzilla movie was G.I.N.O. A real Godzilla movie is made in Japan and stars the japanese Godzilla. that's it. Just because a different director is directing it than usual, or one monster "didn't get enough screen time", that dosn't make it fake. Once again, the director can do whatever the hell he wants to. Each G-movie is different, and thats what makes them good. If the G-movies never changed, Godzilla wouldn't have survived this long.

In short, fans, try to just sit down and watch movies again, without pointing out "errors" or making remarks.

To all the non bitchy fans who see a movie and accept it for what it is, A MOVIE, keep up the good work!
