regarding tea (mostly)

I find it really strange when I sit down to read in B&N and the person in the chair by me (which is really more like a yard away) says hello. I understand they're being friendly, and it is kind of nice, but it's really.... strange. And it kind of ruins the entire atmosphere, because I start having a hard time concentrating on my book because I'm busy trying to figure why the hell they're talking to me.

*sigh* But anyway.

I went to a tea parlor in some fancy rich shopping district ("The Domain") on Mopac the other day, to have a chat with my ex-kindergarten teacher and her niece (who is really obnoxious, rude, and spoiled... essentially the exact personality that teenagers are always portrayed to have). Anyway, that's not the point. xD;

The thing is, the tea shop itself was utterly fantastic. I typically laugh at what Americans consider "tea shops," because they're really not at all what tea parlors ought to be, but this one was right on the dot, except for their menus, which were... sheets of white paper, stapled together. Otherwise, everything was cleanly and elegantly presented, well-laid-out, and generally proper. My mum and I were astounded. :O The tea itself was well-steeped and and tasted fantastic, though you should have guesssed that much, since I wouldn't be promoting a tea parlor unless I liked its tea. XD

This still isn't the point. The point, the real point, is: They had clotted cream.

*____________*~~

That, honestly, utterly won me over. They had scones, too, and they were fairly good (and not triangular, which matters to me only because I am picky and biased)... but CLOTTED CREAM! CLOTTED CREAM. ;_; I even converted my mum to clotted-cream-love. God, I wish I knew where I could buy some D:!! I want to go there again, regardless, because the atmosphere was very nice and they had many interesting varieties of tea.

Oh, and there was an old man working there who reminded me on Tim Gunn. He was very pleasant. Plus, they had a variant of Morroccan tea! My ex-teacher ordered it and we all tried a bit. Delicious. <3
