A-Kon 18 (Friday)
On Friday morning, we got up quite promptly and started preparations. Well, I know I did. Putting on the Shuu costume didn't take long, but putting on the wig was a different matter... it stayed on well for the first hour or so, but eventually my hair started falling out. ;_; Stupid hair. Oh well. Chiggy kept tucking it in for me. XD
My memory sucks, so this is probably going to be totally out of order... in fact, I can guarantee it. :D
Most of the awesome things happened in the evening, but we did have an interesting adventure to the West End (again) in the afternoon, when we set off to get lunch. XD; Mainly because we took the DART -- saving us a lot of walking -- and ended up in a car with a complete set of locals. All of whom stared at us and asked questions... yeah, that was aaaawkwardddd. (Actually, before that, my puppy love blew off into the street x_x....) Um, we got to the West End without any major problems, though, and had a nice lunch, even with my panic about not having my wallet. I was convinced somebody had stolen it, because it was Dallas, after all, but Chig called Fenna and it was later found in our hotel room, safe and sound. :)
Oh, the incredible thing was that we were sat at the exact same table as last time (at TGI Friday's again), and not only did we get the same waiter, but he remembered exactly what we had ordered. o___o Even which person had which drink. That's some memory, man~! Incredible.
After that, we walked down to the fountains and tried to take photos... but we kept getting pushed to the side by some wedding-reception-practice or something equally as lame. =_=; In the end we did manage to take a bunch of photos. :O
At night, we changed into a bit more comfortable clothing to go to the ketchup mania concert. :) They were okay; they did a good job of keeping the crowd alive (from what I could see), and their music wasn't bad. :3 Autographs were immediately afterward, so we ran up to get money and came back down to stand in the super-short line :D Yays.
Theeeen, nobody really wanted to sleep, so we went to the Plaza via skywalk, and found Haley + Shea playing Jew Jew Nazi (the con version of 'Duck Duck Goose,' apparently o_o;) with a bunch of people... but Chiggy and I needed caffiene so we left them with Fenna and Kai, after briefly talking to Kalia and getting her email address. <3
And then we sat around in the mall for a looooong while. XD; Obviously we eventually went back and found Fenna and Kai, and headed back to sleep. :O
Oh, sometime on Friday,Tina, Kai, Fenna, and I headed to the ice skating rink :D Only Fenna and I skated though ;; Tina and Kai just stood around and took some photos/videoclips. Lugging my skates from the Adam's Mark to the Westin was kind of a pain, but it was worth it. ♥ ice skating~
I think this was also the day we saw two members of Ketchup Mania sitting and eating McDonalds. xD lol. Kai kept trying to take a picture of them, but was too frightened by the near-constant presence of hotel security (which insisted that OMG YOU CANNOT TAKE PHOTOS OF THE HOTEL. wtf?) to actually take a photo. xD So we just walked back and forth by them about 50 times. xD;
Actually, that may have been on Saturday. Whatever. XD
