Title: Love or Something Like That Chapter 3
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: SiHyuk (main) & others
Summary: (Takes place in Attack of The Pin-Up Boys universe.) When president Choi Siwon is suddenly dumped by drama queen Kim Heechul, matchmakers Kibum, Donghae, and Shindong will stop at nothing to find the proper boy to ease Siwon's pain while trying to survive problems of their own...if only that damned judo vice captain wasn't so freaking dense...

A/N: Actually this one is a bit shorter than the other chapters. Following chapters may be this length or longer, depending on my mood and how much I can write at the time. But they'll never be under 3000 words, I assure you.

Kangin frowned and looked at his watch again. He had just texted Eunhyuk asking him to come over to the dojo later for some afterschool practice. Eunhyuk was one of those tecchie geeks who never went anywhere without his phone and never failed to return a phone call or text no matter what the situation was. That was one of the reasons why Eunhyuk was so reliable, (even though it was slightly weird when Eunhyuk would return something that Kangin had sent him two months ago) and it was a trait that he prided himself on and one that Kangin was proud of as his hyung.

Now however, it had been exactly 23 minutes and 16 seconds since Kangin had texted Eunhyuk (not that he was keeping track of course, because Kangin didn’t do those kinds of things) and the younger still hadn’t replied to him. Normally, Kangin would only be slightly put off that he hadn’t texted him back and decide that Eunhyuk was probably busy with something. But it was a school day-and Eunhyuk always kept his phone on even during class and took every opportunity to try to return texts, especially if it was Kangin.

And his sixth hour has that easy teacher too… Kangin thought to himself, fingers against his thigh worriedly. He couldn’t help it. He was extremely protective of his clumsy but cute donsaeng and always had been ever since they were young. He would tear anything and anyone apart if he had found that something had happened to Eunhyuk. He remembers sometime several years ago when he and Eunhyuk were younger and had gone to a firefly festival together. Eunhyuk, being the genius he was, ended up getting himself lost. At a festival of all places. Kangin had gone nearly wild with worry and destroyed a total of five concession stands before he found Eunhyuk sucking on a cherry lollipop, a clueless expression on his face as he wandered the crowds calling, “Hyuuung. Hyuuuuung~”

Kangin remembers smacking the goofball upside the head before crushing him in a bearhug and whispering fiercely to him to never ever ever do that to him again. Eunhyuk gasped from lack of air before muttering a, “Yes hyung,” and snuggling back.

He couldn’t help but smile at the memory. He and Eunhyuk had had some pretty good times, times Kangin wouldn’t ever change for the world. They’d also had some good times when it was the three of them-Kangin, Eunhyuk, and Panda hyung.

Kangin frowned at the mental mention of Panda hyung-rather, Leeteuk hyung. He supposed that Eunhyuk’s reaction was expected but he had still hoped that somehow things wouldn’t have to be so difficult. Kangin knew that Eunhyuk would get over the initial shock soon because Eunhyuk was a good-natured boy and he should be used to odd things by now. Kangin knew that Eunhyuk and Leeteuk had great potential to become the best of buds. However-things would get awkward when Eunhyuk discovered the true relationship between Leeteuk and Kangin. If Eunhyuk had fainted when he discovered Leeteuk was Panda hyung, who knows how he would react when he discovered what was going on with Leeteuk and Kangin?

Kangin and Leeteuk were dating. No, Kangin corrected himself, we aren’t dating. Not just yet.

The truth was, both Kangin and Leeteuk harbored romantic feelings towards each other but neither had acted upon it. Kangin was pretty sure Leeteuk was aware of how he felt, and Kangin was almost sure that Leeteuk was infatuated with him as much as he was with Leeteuk, but neither of them had actually come out and said it. So now they stood at the awkward stage right after the playful flirting and before the casual dating.

Kangin wasn’t sure what he should do next. All he knew was that he wanted to be with Leeteuk. But for some reason something kept holding him back and he wasn’t sure what it was.

He sighed checking the time again. 27 minutes 43 seconds. “Call Hyukkie, call. Do something,” he muttered to himself nervously running a hand through his hair. Eunhyuk was like his mediator, he always felt at ease with the younger, whether Eunhyuk was aware of it or not. Kangin supposed it was since they’ve known each other for such a long time that he felt totally comfortable with the younger boy. Even though Kangin wasn’t quite ready to share his feelings and thoughts regarding Leeteuk with Eunhyuk (soon though, he thought quickly. Soon.) he still wanted to spend some time with the younger and afterschool practice was just the thing to do. He could burn off some stress, practice, and maybe land a few hits on Eunhyuk if he felt like it.

Now only if the younger would pick up his damn phone.

“Text back at least,” he grumbled shoving his phone in his pocket after sending Eunhyuk yet another text message. He sighed and looked up for the first time, squinting as he did so. He had decided to ditch class (yet again) and walk around for a bit. History was pointless anyways, right? Right. He had stopped while strolling down the hallway to text Eunhyuk. After the first 10 minutes he had gotten worried and crouched on the floor next to that one oblivious deaf teacher’s room, anxiously looking at his phone. Now he stood up and stretched.

When he lowered his arms, a determined look was set on his face. “I’m gonna find you Eunhyukkie. And then I’m gonna pummel you for not answering your damn phone!”

That said, Kangin set out in search for his silly donsaeng, fist raised and ready.

Siwon was speechless. Just two hours ago, he had been observing (observing not gawking because Choi Siwon doesn’t gawk even if the person he was gawking at was the adorable well built vice captain of the judo team.) Lee Eunhyuk from the dojo and now he had just crashed into him. Well, Eunhyuk had crashed into him, Siwon himself had just stepped back slightly in recoil. Eunhyuk however had flown back from the impact, the large pile of books in his hands flying everywhere.

He winced slightly as he watched Eunhyuk land roughly on his bottom. He winced even more at the loud “Owowowowowow!” that came from Eunhyuk’s mouth. He continued to watch as Eunhyuk struggled to pick himself up and turned to inspect his injured bottom.

What happened next was entirely unexpected for Siwon. Well not really. But still-the president couldn’t help but flinch at the sight of Eunhyuk as the older whirled around, anger evident in his eyes.

“YAH! You stupid clumsy-look what you did. Do you see? DO YOU-oh.” Eunhyuk stopped yelling all at once and just stared at Siwon mouth open. “President?” he choked out after he’d shut his mouth, his eyes still wide. Siwon couldn’t blame Eunhyuk for being surprised. It wasn’t often that someone randomly encountered Siwon-the mighty president of Paran High-in the hallways of all places, and unescorted at that.

Siwon shuffled his feet suddenly feeling very much like a hopelessly smitten schoolboy who couldn’t even handle exchanging a few words between him and his crush without fainting from brain overload. Oh yes-fainting sounded really good right now. But then if he fainted--Eunhyuk knew first aid. And who knew what the dope (cute dope… Siwon thought to himself before inwardly slapping himself. NOT CUTE NOT CUTE--) would do if Siwon had actually fainted. He’d probably freak out for precisely a minute before deciding to adminster some random first aid. Maybe mouth to mouth-oh my-

“Erm…President…? Are you okay? You look kinda flushed,” Eunhyuk’s worried voice broke Siwon out of his fantasy and he immediately shook himself to attention brushing away all thoughts of Eunhyuk and his mouth. He did not just think that…

“Ahh yes! Yes I’m fine. It’s-just a bit stuffy here that’s all,” Siwon replied quickly, too quickly he decided when Eunhyuk’s worried expression only grew. He attempted another smile as he pushed his glasses upon the bridge of his nose, only slightly aware of the beads of sweat rolling down his forehead as Eunhyuk approached him.

“You don’t look fine to me…” Eunhyuk muttered reaching up because even though technically, Eunhyuk was older than Siwon, Siwon was still a lot taller than he was. As he stretched towards Siwon’s forehad, Eunhyuk mentally reminded himself to start drinking more milk because really-this was an outrage. Siwon was younger therefore Eunhyuk should be taller, presenting the older hyung image. Even if Siwon was their serious intimidating president.

Though, Eunhyuk mused to himself as he finally pressed his cool hand against Siwon’s warm forehead, he doesn’t seem all that intimidating to me. Maybe I shouldn’t have judged the guy before I met him…though those stories were all pretty true from what I heard…Hmmm…

When Eunhyuk’s hand made contact with Siwon’s forehead, Siwon released a breath he hadn’t even realized that he had been holding. The feeling of Eunhyuk’s cool skin on his was soothing and Siwon couldn’t help but close his eyes a small sigh escaping his lips.

What is wrong with me?

“Well,” Eunhyuk announced pulling away from Siwon making the other silently groan in disappointment to himself, “You feel pretty warm to me. Are you sure you don’t feel sick or anything?” Siwon only shook his head making Eunhyuk frowned. They both stood there in silence, each of them deep in thought. Well, Eunhyuk was deep in thought anyways. Siwon decided to occupy himself by watching Eunhyuk.

I’m so confused! Siwon wailed to himself as a strange sensation bubbled in his stomach from watching Eunhyuk bite his lip thoughtfully. Damn. It should be criminal for someone older than him to look so damn cute. Siwon’s eyebrows twitched in annoyance.

ARGH! He’s not cute. NOT NOT NOT! Dammit! While Siwon argued between himself and his common sense, Eunhyuk had come to a decision and turned to Siwon, a satisfied smile on his face.

“Yah!” he yelled happily, poking Siwon out of his stupor. Siwon blinked in surprise and turned to Eunhyuk eyebrows raised questioningly. Eunhyuk only grinned wider at Siwon’s expression.

“I’m gonna take you out!” he declared straightforwardly putting his hands on his hips decisively. Siwon almost fell over in shock.

“E-excuse me what?” Siwon asked startled. Eunhyuk tilted his head blinking innocently before repeating what he had said before only slower. Siwon let out a breath of air. So he hadn’t been hearing things. “And may I ask…” Siwon started not really sure how to react to Eunhyuk’s out-of-the-blue proposal, “why?” Eunhyuk only smiled his happy gummy smile at Siwon.

“Because anyone can tell you’re not feeling well President. And whether it’s an actual physical illness or some sort of mental junk,” Siwon hid an amused smile at Eunhyuk’s choice of words, “any sane person knows that a day of fun can take all your worries away and then you’ll feel better! Ta-da! Instant recovery!” Eunhyuk waved his hands in a showy manner for emphasis and Siwon didn’t bother hiding his smile this time, though he was smiling with Eunhyuk rather than at him.

Eunhyuk’s eyes widened when he saw Siwon’s small smile-small but it was still there. Eunhyuk had thought it was rather bold of him to be speaking in such a familiar manner with Choi Siwon of all people and he had been half-expecting to be zapped by Siwon’s magical electricky thingy. However, Siwon didn’t seem to be at all uptight, in fact he seemed rather unsure of himself…Eunhyuk couldn’t exactly put his finger on it but something wasn’t too right about Siwon’s behavior in person and the rumors he had heard about his behavior in other situations. Whatever it was, Eunhyuk didn’t really care. All he was sure about was that Siwon looked as if he hadn’t had any fun in ages.

And Eunhyuk was prepared to give him the time of his life.

“Let’s go!” he cried unexpectedly grabbing Siwon’s hand and leading him down the hallway. Siwon allowed himself to be dragged at first, mostly because he was too shocked to even move, before he snapped out of it and began his first of many protests.

“We can’t! We’ve got two more hours to go to-”

“It’s fine, it’s fine! I missed fifth and sixth hour anyways so it doesn’t matter. We might as well ditch now.”

“But still-how are we going to get out anyways? It’s not like we can just get away with-”

“It’s fine, it’s fine! You’re the school president aren’t you? I’m sure they’ll let you out without any questioning at all. You’re the last person anyone would expect to ditch class anyways.”

“This isn’t right! We could get caught! And-and-”

“Anddddd~~~?”

“I-I’ve never ditched ever in my entire life! Ever!”

“It’s fine, it’s fine! There’s a first time for everything President!”

Siwon paled when he realized that they had arrived at the front entrance of the school and were now making their way across the massive lawn towards the first gate.

He couldn’t believe what he had gotten himself into.

Shindong guffawed when a disgruntled Kibum dragged himself over to seventh hour and tiredly described the day’s events to the other judo player.

“Yup. That sounds like our Hyukkie alright,” Shindong stated cheerfully patting the not-as-amused Kibum on the head. Kibum only huffed in response crossing his arms in annoyance.

“I didn’t accomplish anything at all,” Kibum whined kicking the desk in front of him in frustration. The student occupying that desk jumped in the surprise and turned to yell at Kibum, only to shrink back in fear at the royally pissed expression Kibum was currently holding. Shindong only laughed some more.

“C’mon Bummie. No one said it was going to be easy. Besides, don’t you like challenges?” Kibum scoffed.

“It’s not that! It’s just that…how can someone be so freaking dense?!”

“You haven’t even done anything Kibum. You’re just upset that your plains got foiled…”

“…yeah yeah whatever.” Shindong rolled his eyes. Even though he wasn’t as close to Kibum as he was with Donghae or Eunhyuk, he knew that the younger must be really annoyed if he was acting in such a childish manner. It was rather amusing actually. Wait hold on…

“Where’s Donghae?” Shindong suddenly asked craning his neck and looking around for the other boy. At the mention of his name, Kibum’s shoulders stiffened slightly but Shindong was too busy looking around to notice. And the movement was so slight and Kibum-like, it would have been surprising if Shindong had seen it.

“I-I don’t know…” Kibum said albeit shaking, control the waver in his voice. It was the truth though. He didn’t know where Donghae was but if he knew Donghae, he was probably dancing. Or skipping class. Or both.

Shindong blinked confused, before brushing the matter aside. This wouldn’t be the first time Donghae skipped class anyways. That boy had been absent so many times the teachers had finally given up bothering to call him for roll. They just checked him off as absent and it was a rare lovely occurrence for a full month in which Donghae had no absences whatsoever.

When the teacher strolled in and announced that class would be starting, (not before yelling, “Shin Donghee, get back to your own class right now!” in which Shindong immediately scurried away flashing a final grin to Kibum before he left) Kibum tried hard to pay attention to the class. He really did. But he found that task nearly impossible as his teacher’s monotonous voice droned on and on speaking something about chemical symbols and whatnot, Kibum wasn’t exactly sure since he wasn’t paying any attention. Sure enough, his mind slowly began to slip out of its perfect-little-student mode and thoughts of Donghae began to creep into his mind.

Where is he right now? What did he think when he saw Eunhyuk ssi and me? Is he okay? Kibum bit his lip. He wished he could approach Donghae and ask him all these questions straight out, but even though Donghae was the one person closest to Kibum, the younger still had trouble fully opening up to the other. Kibum was used to being solitary and having an extroverted best friend like Donghae was more than a little different from the regular routine.

But then, it was because of Donghae that Kibum was able to change, that he was able to talk to people with ease now. Before, it was so much harder…Kibum let out a little sigh before turning his head and looking out at the window, a habit of his. It was something he did when he was distracted or when his thoughts were all scattered, like they were now.

I don’t even understand what’s going on with me. How can I go to him now and get clarity when I myself can’t explain how I’m feeling? Kibum sighed again.

“Kibum sshi?” Kibum started before turning his head a sheepish look on his face as the teacher glared at him. “Are you paying attention?” she demanded hands on her hips, ruler swaying dangerously from her hand. Kibum gulped at the sight of the rule before shaking his head slowly, preparing for any incoming chalks headed for his head. However, the teacher only sighed.

“Don’t let me catch you slacking off in class again.” Kibum nodded his head slowly, ignoring the teacher’s words and beginning to drift back into his thoughts. “Yah!” the teacher exclaimed. Kibum blinked again. “As for your punishment,” she continued giving him a scalding look, “I want you to show the new transfer student around school. Teach him everything, stay by his side, at all times.” She emphasized on those words eyebrows raising up in effect. “He’s to arrive either tomorrow or the day after. I trust he’ll be safe in your hands, right Kim Kibum?” Kibum just nodded. “Good.” With that she turned around and continued her lecture.

Kibum frowned. He couldn’t believe this! A transfer student? So suddenly? And now, Kibum found himself in charge of that transfer student. Unbelievable. This was so going to interfere with not only his plans with Eunhyuk, but time with Donghae. Kibum inwardly groaned to himself. This was absolutely terrific.

He put his head down on the desk, feeling defeated. “Stupid transfer student.” he muttered.

~Like I said, sorry for the shortness, but I actually enjoyed writing this chapter. It leaves some things unsaid and for everyone to THINK ABOUT IT :DDD YAY THINKING. Anyways, comments are loved! And ideas/criticism are welcomed. Thanks for reading~!
