Okay!!
The concert!!
And Thursday. :D
Since this entry is for my journal and not going to be cross-posted to my family's collective "Japan" blog, I will rant about Gazette more than I did about LM.C. I feel kind of guilty for this but...I love them both equally :3 besides, my LM.C live is going to be released on DVD since it was a final. You can all see it then clearly.
The cosplay at lives is amazing. O_O
Lots of Guren Rukis, with and without facebling, and a lot of GORGEOUS tall, skinny Uruhas. *o* AND A ZETSU KAI! Omgomgomg I love Kai's Zetsu outfit with its silly furry pants, I was so excited when I saw her I was like ":D PICTURE?" and she was like "Okay!" and she stands up then realizes she's in front of a sign saying "BATHROOM THIS WAY -->" and so the actual picture is in front of a water fountain instead xD
There was also a Reila Kai hanging out with a lolita :D lots of very cute lolitas, just like at LM.C.
Umm, so the doors opened but since it was cold outside and Sandra and I had reserved seats in the balcony, we didn't get in the line that went all the way out the door. We waited with my brother - who got a ticket and was VERY excited - until the line came inside, then jumped in.
Then...we got inside the hall. Getting inside the hall is always very exciting, because every time we go "OMG WE'RE SO CLOSE O__O"
We were, because the balcony was actually pretty far up :D and well-slanted, which is great for me because at LM.C we were on the floor and I felt bad every time I jumped or something because I was taller than the little asians around me. Here that was unnecessary! Yeahhh :D
Umm, so the concert finally starts. And of course it opens with "Art Drawn by Vomit" playing with the stage dark. Then of course, "Agony" starts up and the lights go on and we're like "EEE :D"
Since I don't remember the setlist very well, I will now start skipping around to various things.
Here are the songs they played, out of order, with occasional commentary on that song xD
In fact they're going to be alphabetical because I'm just flipping through my Zune and writing any song they played.
Halfway through this list, I saved it, and when I was about to post the stupid entry my internet broke. So the second half on is me retyping it. Just know...I suffered when that happened.
Art Drawn By Vomit (Hey Jesus)
Agony (audience got to shout DON'T COME NEAR ME :D)
Akai One Piece (the drums started up, and all I could remember was that this was the song that starts the same was as High Collar at lives, and that we'd always go "It's not High Collar..!" when watching the live DVD. Then Sandra was like "AKAI ONE PIECE O_O" we got to do the dance!! Zach, who doesn't know many Gazette songs but knows this dance very well, was really excited.)
Burial Applicant (I remember hearing that Ruki was shocked in Europe when the audience shouted "MISETE!" back at him. I was disappointed that this meant they don't do it in Japan. xD)
Calm Envy (awww)
Circle of Swindler (I know more words to this song than I thought I did)
Cockroach (Umm...rahhhhh >:3 I love this song but don't know what to say)
Discharge (he didn't start it off with the scream so I was a little confused for a bit xD)
Filth in the Beauty (Audience got to shout, "HOW LONG, HOW LONG, HOW LONG" :D)
Ganges ni Akai Bara (The beginning is different from it is on the album, it was totally cool. Dark lights, then every once in a while Ruki's little scat thing would play and a light would go on for a second, and then the song started normally. ...bad description, cool beginning. The piano was also very quiet so I was like "what song is this 8D")
Gentle Lie (which one's Gentle Lie and which one's Calm Envy? I mix them up a lot xDD I half-missed the "no, no, no" and was disappointed.)
Guren (Prettyyyyy ♥♥ This was the song where Aoi finally got into his guitar-playing, and we got all the sexy guitargasms.)
Hyena (Zach was sad that he didn't do the "aaaaaaaaalriiiiight" at the beginning, but the song rocked.)
Juuyonsai no Knife (We heard them playing this song when we were buying merchandise, a bit over an hour and a half before the doors opened. It wasn't on the setlist, so we were like "Are they going to play it?!" they did. We were pumped. I couldn't remember why it was I was so pumped to hear this song until Ruki goes, "Rrrrrreita~". I was like "OH YEAH ♥" )
Kugutsue (I love this song ♥♥♥ the backup vocals were amazing)
Kyomu no Owari words words words (Since it was the last slow song to play, people weren't sure if it was loud enough to bring back the hand motions, and since it's new we didn't really know. So a few people did and most didn't. It was still amazing, and the "otosu" and the ending were both great *w* at the end, the "la"s were all recorded and playing, but then for the last two the recording stops and Ruki sings the last "la la". It was so intense~)
Linda ~candydive pinky heaven~ (This was the last song, and a lot of fun ^w^ The lights all came on for the whole hall, and we finally did the left-right-waving hand motion. It amuses me that we only did it on the last, poppiest song of the Gazette live, but did it all the time at LM.C)
Mob 136 Bars (What does the name of this song mean..? it just occurred to me that it's weird. Either way, I love this song and always think it's an older one since I learned it unexpectedly fast and know it better than any other new song on Stacked Rubbish.)
Ride with the Rockers (Since the encore shout seemed to go on forever, and was very scary due to Gazette's penchant for NOT doing encores (>_> bitches), it was very exciting when two spotlights came on and then Reita and Kai appeared in them running up from the back of the hall. I was kind of disappointed that it didn't start with just Kai, but nonetheless it was awesome and we still got to hear from him xD Also, I LOVE THIS SONG. Reita's "SREE, TSUU, WAN, GO!!" is one of my favorite ...uh, things. Ever. So yeah :D ALSO once Aoi and Uruha came out, we got to hear more Aoi-screams and we all know how Kate loves those. Or we all do now.)
The Social Riot Machines (I love this song, haha. Ruki did the "Gomi gomi gouhou wa? Gomi gomi gomigomigee" part very differently, I don't know if it's just because it was a live or because his voice is so different now.)
Swallowtail on the Death Valley (This song has one of my favorite dances, during the first part in English about the angel and devil and licking wounds and whatnot. To the beat, it's raise hands to the left - raise hands to the right - raise hands to the left - raise hands up and jump! You jump on the "yeah" and...I dunno, I like it even though it reminds me of a workout tape xD)
Taion (OH MY GOD. This was NOT on the setlist and I had kind of accepted in mourning that they wouldn't play it. So when the stage is dark and Ruki is just barely lit up and he starts with the quiet, "douka...", I DIED. Of course the hall was totally silent since it's a sad song, so Sandra and I had to keep ourselves from screaming in shock and happiness. In the end we kind of hyperventilated and I was silently half-crying half-laughing for most of the song, until the headbanging shook me out of my...weird insanity. I LOVE THIS SONG BTW.)
There was another song where he had the audience sing a part. I cannot remember what song it was but it was really fun. Durrr.
Other things that rocked:
-Reita was all over the place xD Combined with his usual unsuccessful efforts to get someone to interact with him onstage, he has now added practically doing the SPLITS to his repertoire. He is shockingly skilled at managing intense poses down on the ground and then jumping up in just a second. They were very cool. ALSO he did this one thing during Ride with the Rockers where he goes up the steps to Kai's drumming platform, raises his bass above him on the top step with his back to the audience, then starts leaning over backwards with the bass still over his head. We were all very worried Gazette's only bassist was going to fall over backwards and land head/bass-first on the ground. He did not, don't worry, there will still be basslines in their future releases.
-Uruha/Ruki fanservice. Just some general close-sexy-cuteness. Awwww. Uruha was basically adorable the ENTIRE live. Don't remember what song this was during...aha.
-Uruha/Kai moment! Uruha goes up to the top step (I don't remember this song either! Ha, you'll never know) standing next to Kai's drumset, and after a few seconds of them both managing glances at each other, they finally made eye contact, and they both grin their ADORABLE grins and Uruha skips off. (Well, he went down the stairs). But oh my god, from my spot back in the balcony I could see Kai's giant grin. It was like his whole face just turned lighter. He's so cute I might die.
-Aoi/Kai moment! I forget what song it was during, but it was near the end so possibly Linda. Either way, Aoi decided to go all alice nine on us and actually go BEHIND Kai's drumset to stand next to him. Kai was like "LOL HIIII :D" and Aoi was like "hi, but I'm still cool just fyi :)"
-If Aoi was not a guitarist, he'd have a career all set for him in the MLB. I thought Aiji was impressive for throwing a water bottle halfway to the back of the LM.C live...Aoi's water bottle throws made it into the BALCONY. TWICE.
-Ruki came back out for the encore with a long, somewhat see-through shirt on over his tour shirt. It went halfway to his knees, and while it was very sexy to see him in all black...it only made him look shorter xDD and with Uruha right over there in his white shirt making him look even taller, it was hard to resist making fun of poor short Ruki :3
Yeah. The end. Moving onto my short story for Thursday xD Actually, wait, there are two stories!
First story: Morning after the live, Thursday morning, we head into the train station to get our Shinkansen tickets to go back to the Narita airport. While my parents are in line, Sandra and I are hanging out on the stairs and watching some girls all dressed up who had clearly gone to the live yesterday (Nagano is a winter resort-type town, so it's not full of teenagers. Basically anyone dressed up in punk or lolita had been to the live). Then I see them pull out their phones and all start taking pictures of two people walking by. Just as the two walk by us, I realize I should look at who these Gazette fans are taking pictures of.
Because they were taking pictures of Uruha and Reita. Who walked right by me, dressed in their everyday clothes. O__O
Sandra is really mad that it took me so long to make the connection and point it out to her and so we barely got to see them, didn't get a picture, and didn't think to stop them until they'd already gone through the ticket area to the trains.
But I saw Uruha and Reita in the train station >:3
(And before you ask, no, I didn't see Reita's nose, he had one of those allergy-masks on xD)
Second story: We decided to look for the Baby, the Stars Shine Bright store in Nagano, even though I had 9 yen left. (note: equivalent to about 9 cents) We had seen a run-down building marked "La Foret", and since our internet was down decided it was our only lead and to walk over there. On the way through the train station, we saw three of the cosplayers from yesterday. It was the two Rukis and the Silly God Disco Uruha. One of them came up to us and asked if we'd been at the live yesterday, and we were like "Yeah~ ^w^" then there was a silence as they smoked coolly and we were like, "...kay bye xD" Then went through the station, to the building, and determined that it was definitely NOT a La Foret (something else by the same name, I guess). It was all run-down and empty looking xD So we headed back and when we were inside the station, we saw them again sitting in a corner on some stairs.
So we went over to talk to them, I asked if they had mixi or myspace or MSN or anything, all of which was no (the Mad Marble Hell Vision Ruki was like, "...my mom uses MSN...") but by then we had sufficiently started a conversation so we talked about where we live and what concerts we'd been to (they were like "ahhh, LM.C!") then they quizzed us on who their costumes were of xDD we had problems with the Uruha one since her hair wasn't done and...her costume was kind of plain... so we weren't sure if she was an Uruha or an Aoi. Then the Rukis were like "What about us?" even though both of their costumes were like, flawless xDD It turned out they'd both made their costumes, which shocked us since they looked like they'd been bought. Mad Marble Hell Vision Ruki said she actually usually cosplayed Aoi. Next Gazette live they went to, they were going to be cosplaying Guren :D
We told the Cockroach Ruki that we wanted to do Cockroach cosplays now xD she was like "Yahh!" so she took her hat off and put it on Sandra and I and took pictures with us xD it looked giant on Sandra, but hardly fit on my big head (I picked it up and was like, "ahh, it's cardboard inside!" and the cosplayers were like "xDD LOL she learned our secret").
They seemed impressed that Sandra and I had done Cassis cosplay xD Then Sandra's mom was like "Okay lets go" so I asked them if they knew where Baby the Stars Shine Bright was, and they were like "oh! yeah" and the Mad Marble Hell Vision Ruki stands up, and starts walking with us (to show us where it is). Then she kind of turns around to her friends and is like, "Oh...uh...see you xD;" and Cockroach Ruki reaches for her and dramatically shouts (imagine a rolled R here, people) "RRRRRRUKI!!"
So she takes us to the end of the train station and points to the building right next to our hotel where we'd gotten coffee earlier and said it was on the third floor. We felt kind of dumb that it was that close xDD so we said goodbye and went shopping. We didn't get anything at Baby obviously since we were practically broke, but Sandra got a Banao pencil case (which she spent the rest of the trip harassing me with) to keep her DS games in.
OKAY
LONG POST IS LONG
BUT ALSO OVER.
