Three years...

May 30, 2005 23:30

There are so many things I want to write about. New York City, graduating from college, the beautiful Reunion Weekend I just worked at my school, Philadelphia's Dali exhibit, all of the things that have been happening here, everything.

But today is an extraordinarily special day that makes me think intensely of my life three years ago right around this time.

Today is the THREE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY of JRock Role Play.

My first thought about this is, Jesus H. Christ. Three years for an internet community is like thirty regular time. Three years is a very sizeable slice of the entire time the internet has even popularly existed.

I'm stunned and thrilled that JRRP has carried on this long. It's truly awesome. It's also evolved a great deal, and the periods of minimal activity we saw in those first two years seem to have vanished in its third. How amazing is that?

And if we've hit three years of JRRP, that also means that I've hit three years of love and friendship with some very beloved people who came into my life during the summer of 2002, and more than anything, you guys are who I'm thinking about on this day.

Especially to my partner on the road trip of life Ri-chan, to my partner-in-crime J, to my partner-in-graduating XDXD Shini, and to my original partner in Tokyo hijinks Aes---I've been through a lot with all of you, and I lessthanthree you all forever, and the same to my dearest Jenjen, though we knew each other long before then, as we became particularly close beginning with that summer. <333 I'm very excited that in the coming months, I'll get to see all of you except Jenjen---and that means I have a certain priority when I hit Asia. >DD

To Anna, though we don't really talk much nowadays, you and yours made that summer the joy that it was as well. And to Maria, who goddammit I want to meet in person sometime soon, cause you rock. Also to Muffin, who was there through all that followed that summer, and gave me a reason to be back.

I still look back on that summer as one of the best times of my life. A lot has happened since then, much of which I'm still recovering from---particularly when it comes to school. And there are many awesome people I met back then who I don't really talk to anymore nowadays, but you were also what made that summer great.

That summer is forever golden in my memories. Thank you to everyone I met then, and everyone in my life before then, and of course to all the wonderful people I've met since.. to everyone who's still around reading this slightly dusty journal, which if you put together with its pre-Araki-san location turned three years old itself on May 12. Nanka sugoi tte kanji..

Love. <3
