First real day in Berlin. Last night was just so awesome because a bunch of drunk guys woke everyone except the bro up at 3am. -_-

We got up a little late and made our way to the laundry mat. The care taker had to almost litterally hold our hands through the process of using a washer and dryer in German. XD He was very kind to help us, though.

After laundry, we went to this square where all of the embassies were. I tried to get the bro to go to the US embassy so that we could say we went home early, but he wouldn't humor me. XD Then came the Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Topography of Terror Museum, and some weird art meets Jeweish history museum. The first two were both depressing and interesting - the third was.... weird. I can't even form words to describe it. It was certainly an interesting take on what we might think of as a museum.

While wandering around town, we were seeing these dudes in soviet, US, and even Native American garb. It was crazy how the European and Asian tourists were going nuts over them. I seriously didn't get it. They wound up being a tourist trap kinda thing. For four euro you could get your photo taken with them. It was seriously weird to see.

We ended up eating dinner next door to our hostel at what turned out to be a very damn good Chinese restaurant, and then we wandered around the shopping district where we will return to tomorrow.

Also, there are these bear statues everywhere, much like the cow ones we had in KC for awhile. I get that the bear is on the Berlin flag, so it's some sort of massive pun. But then I wonder what the lions we saw in Munich were about. Maybe the Munich flag had lions on it. XD
