Well, I'm pretty sure now it wasn't caused by the flu. ^^;;;
I think it might have been either because I was cycling in the rain on Saturday or because of accumulated stress from the last few days (stress from work and from worrying about cooking an authentic mee goreng for
itsacz, among other things). (My mother says that what I made isn't mee goreng, but rather stir-fried noodles with vegetables. Oh well.)
Since I'm feeling somewhat better now, I thought I'd post some links/observations over the last two days, as well as things I'm going to do over the next few days:
- The SPAM Game - This game is hilarious! (especially if you follow Monty Python) And also very difficult... I can't get beyond the 5th level
- Singapore seems to be associated with banning chewing gum to many people. The management consultant at the PRO Club asked me about it, various co-workers of mine've asked me about it, and even random people at stores have asked me about it. On the other hand, those who've been there (even only for transit in Changi Airport) say that it's a very clean and well-organized place, so I suppose at least we're doing something right. :P
- Speaking of which, I now have a membership at the PRO Club! \o/ I don't intend to work out every day of the week (especially since I don't have a car yet, so I'd have to cycle there before/after work), but I'm definitely thinking of working out at least twice a week. It's a bit disappointing that indoor cycling isn't one of the free programs, but I'll see what I can work out after my first (free) appointment with my personal trainer. I need to be prepared to spend at least $200 a month, possibly, but it's a necessary price to pay for a lean basket that will hopefully be a bit more attractive to girls (in addition to some of the other changes)?
- Security Guard, a credit card scam that's apparently become much more common recently. Definitely something to be concerned about...
- EBgames has a promotion currently on where you can get City of Heroes or City of Villains free with any game purchase. I might consider this. :P
- I definitely need to get a rain coat. Or do something about getting caught in the rain.
- I'm going to miss this place when I move. It's hard to find apartments which don't cost a bomb (more than $1000 for a single person, or $1400 for two people), are furnished (though buying furniture would be cheaper than renting it in the long run), and are so close to work... I could always stay with Cz, but I don't think he'd appreciate that
- I'm buying a keyboard this week, hopefully ^^;;; I can't really decide whether I want to get one of these:
But I'll probably have to go in person to the nearest Yamaha/piano equipment dealer and see what options there are, anyway, as well as the touch... Of note is that some of them are not portable. :P Memories of transporting a certain person's digital piano in 2003 come back...
And once I get a keyboard (as well as headphones and a bench, if needed), I need to transport everything back and then start practicing almost non-stop ^^;;;
Apparently I can cycle to the nearest dealer (
Bellevue American Music) from work, too, so I might check it out tomorrow or on Tuesday (depending on my schedule).
