Merry Xmas!!

Yes, it is I, the prodigal daughter returneth;P Let's just say I've been under a lot of stress and leave it at that;) I thought I'd share some pics of the leaves at Harajuku, a cat cafe in Shimokitazawa, and some beautiful illuminations here in Tokyo as a small xmas gift^^

First, back at the beginning of December I went with a friend to see the autumn leaves at Meiji Jingu in Harajuku, and get some xmas shopping done. The Japanese maple turns a beautiful flame red, and in the setting sun it makes a very peaceful, soothing atmosphere...the poems are by, respectively, the Meiji Emperor and his Consort, and read: A poem by the Meiji Emperor: If only one's heart were as wide as the clear, pale green sky;
A poem by the Meiji Consort: It has been said that one's desire is for the heart to be as unclouded as the mirror one gazes into every morning

The little girl seems to be on her way back from a shichi-go-san celebration, for kids of 3, 5, or 7 years of age^^ Very cute~:3 Then we wandered around Harajuku/Omotesando a bit, here's some of what we saw:)

The donuts are caramel nut, and are actually from a place called Tamagotchi donuts...does anyone remember the Tamagotchi? Yeah, they're back...^^;;;;

Then, a couple weeks ago I was feeling particularly upset about certain things in my life so I decided to visit a cat cafe for the first time and see if that could help me feel a bit better^^ So, a quick train ride to Shimokitazawa later...:D Lots of cats, one hour for roughly 10$ and that includes one drink (hot cocoa for me!!), and on the way home I saw this interesting dog sign (if you need a SIGN, there's probably a bigger problem hereO_o), plus picked up an adorable Alpaca hot water bottle!<3<3

Finally, over in Roppongi they have some beautiful lights up (most of Tokyo does, but my camera sucks in the dark and wandering around by myself in the cold is not my favorite way to spend a school night when I should be doing homework...), and I happened to get invited to a party last week! That's right, one of the guys in my Japanese class at uni is in the US armed forces, and must be pretty high-up because he lives for free in a massive condo in RoppongiO_o He invited us all over for an early xmas party last friday, so on the way me and some of my classmates took pics^^

You can even see Tokyo Tower lit up in the background, very romantic:3 Well, I hope you all have a wonderful xmas filled with happy memories and those that are near and dear to you:) May next year be even better, and may we all be filled with hope and peace and strength to keep going forward^^ Love you all!^^
